Wiring up a relay for reverse camera

So I installed a Navtv back up cam in my C4s cab, however just as the instrictions suggested, the output1 wire on the harness doesn't provide enough power for the camera and the picture tends to flicker when throttle is applied. They do recommend wiring in a relay to a constant power source.

Has anyone experienced this issue and wired in a relay? What's the configuration and what's a good wire to tap into in the dash?

Any suggestions appreciated.

On the 18 pin harness for the PCM3.1 box there is yellow wire (pin1) that is 12 volt constant, you can use that for your power source ( I verified this with NAVTV).

As for wiring a relay below is how you will need to wire it.
You can buy relays with prewired sockets from Amazon or just stop by any car audio store.

86 connects to the white/red wire
30 connects to the yellow wire
87 connects to the cameras red power wire
85 connects to ground.

Pic references car audio stuff.. Think of what your doing, the NAVTV has a 12 volt trip that triggers the camera, that wire trips the relay so it sends a solid 12 volt constant to power your camera.

I highly recommend soldering the the wires and using heat shrink then taping them. Using butt connectors is a bad idea, the chances of the wires pulling apart when trying to stuff the nav tv and harness back in are to great.
