Steve Beddor is very fast at BIR. I am with Marty on this one, he knows that track better than most Porsche owners. I really doubt that there would be many folks here running mid 1:40's on that track in a street car.

I am curious... who on this board do you think is faster than Steve Beddor??? Could your drivers beat him, especially in a hill climb event??? I wasn't aware that Jeff Zwart was on this board.
The problem with your idea of a track "shootout" event is that it's asinine and simply a dick measuring contest with little reward. Winning a "track event" is only limited to one's pocketbook. For example, all one would need to do is bring one of the Alzen 996 Turbo cars or even a stock GT3 RSR and have Patrick Long or Mika Salo drive it. All it proved is that ALMS drivers are faster than pretty much anyone on 6Speed, even in a slower car. Doesn't take much to figure that out.... There are some members (just a few) with enough financial resources to bring a whole LeMans-winning support crew with drivers. How are you going to beat those guys unless they beat themselves?

Wow down boy down....
Last time I checked Brainerd is not a hill climb but a road course. So i dont where you get the fact I think that my could beat him at a hill climb.
And what I meant by a shootout was for 6 speed members and no we arent talking alms cars I meant street cars .
I am not including our World Challenge GT car either.
And yes do I think my guy is faster.. I would be willing to take that bet.
The whole point of this thread was to find out lap times of street cars at certain tracks and yes unfortunetley that usually have a price tag attached to it.
Thats the name of the game.
If you want to cut the playing field down have a everyone run the same tire.
It doesnt need to be a "manly hood" measuring experiance - Just a freindly get together at a track to have some fun.

I was just referencing a friend in a street driven (old technology) car.
His home track is Brainerd and you wont beat him there. Period.
I was not questioning anyone elses abilities or challenging them. I was not
touting my own. I am sorry for getting anybody rialed up. Someone mention
Jeff Zwart who at one time did beat Steve in Pikes's Peak. Steve went on
to far exceed Jeff''s time with more practice and years under his belt (in the same
car I am talking about). Someone drive their car to Minnesota and run a low 1:40
up at Brainerd (8-10 seconds faster than me in my street car) and then I buy you
dinner and pay you for driving lessons.

Ok Fabryce,
Put the event together... and let's have some fun.
You bring James and the GMG crew, and I will put together a team that will give you a good fight, especially if we hold the event in Las Vegas

There are arguments for both sides...
I'm kinda of the opinion that if we don't allow true race cars, we need a statement specifying that we don't and why. Personally I don't want to see GT3 Cupcar times up there, but that's just me...
You forgot another great race complex, Summit Point Raceway Park!
Oh and MacGT3 ran 2.04 at VIR last weekend.
