Hey guys-now that I happen to jump back into this thread, I was wondering, what are the maximum number of gallons a 996 TT takes? Just curious. is it really 14.5gals?? thanks!!!

that is what I hear, 14.5 gallons, but I have put 16 gallons in it and it was near empty, but not completely. I also did not fill it to the cap when I put 16 gallons in it, so it was a true 16. So I wonder if there was a certain year where the tank grew in size.

Fuel tank is 64 liters....64/3.7854=16.91 gallons


1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters

OTOH, 64 Litres is just over 14 IMPERIAL Gallons, so for those of us outside the US, yeah, 14.5 gallons including the filler tube is about right. No wonder we get better MPG than you, we have bigger Gallons!! Of course, we use Liters, and some stupid l/100kms thing that I've never truly understood!
