The best advice in my opinion. I've filled up the last five times with the pump handle upside down and am able to get in an additional gallon of gas than before (14.5 gal). Still have to stop after the first click though to avoid the lethal shower.

Hey guys-now that I happen to jump back into this thread, I was wondering, what are the maximum number of gallons a 996 TT takes? Just curious. is it really 14.5gals?? thanks!!!

that is what I hear, 14.5 gallons, but I have put 16 gallons in it and it was near empty, but not completely. I also did not fill it to the cap when I put 16 gallons in it, so it was a true 16. So I wonder if there was a certain year where the tank grew in size.

OTOH, 64 Litres is just over 14 IMPERIAL Gallons, so for those of us outside the US, yeah, 14.5 gallons including the filler tube is about right. No wonder we get better MPG than you, we have bigger Gallons!! Of course, we use Liters, and some stupid l/100kms thing that I've never truly understood!
