precision turbo vs. GT turbo

What are the differences between the two? I see many supras a vipers using the PT's. It seems like PT61 is similar to a GT35 in size. Is there any benefits or reasons why the big turbos on the TT's use GT's?

Precision is a company out of indiana that is a Garrett dealer...
Im not sure what u mean what the difference sinceur making a comparison between a company and a GT garrett turbos which they actually produce.
With that said, I had my first set of Gt35rs on my porsche from Precision and once started to fail already... thats only after 2500 miles. Something fell in the other one so I decided to change both.
I also have a Precision GT35r on my Evo with 640awhp.. that one failed and came out my exhaust.... that was after 5K miles. they did not honor any warranty.
I have a really good source for garretts and or hybrids...

Precision uses Garrett housings in their GT line, but supplies their own center cartriges. I have read and heard that the Garrett shaft is thicker. Different camps seem to have their particular favorite. Hope that helps. I have a PT in my car now which has worked well, and a GT on my desk waiting to go in at some point in the near future.

Well I guess my question is there are TT's running twin GT35r's. Is there a benefit using the GT35r's over say, twin PT61 turbos? If you look on precisions website, there are GT family turbos and then there are T4 family turbos(PT61, PT76gts etc.). I think these are totally different turbos? No?

its a gt35r but with a custom compressor and a anti surge housing...
I can get gt35r custom made to order- non of this over the counter stuff ...

GT35R is a T3 frame. I'm not absolutely certain, but I believe the PT61 could be had in either T3 or T4 frame. I don't know if that's application specific or an ala carte option with Precision.

T4 simply denotes a series of turbos that will fit a common turbine inlet flange. T4 does not denote "old generation" turbos. The HTA GT35R is, I believe a T3 divided inlet turbo. My brand new Garrett GT4202R is a T4 frame turbo. Depending on the application small/medium/large frame turbos would be T25/T3/T4 or T3/T4/T6 with subcategories of undivided/divided connoting either single scroll, or twin scoll designs respectively.

The HTA gt35r's sounds like a good idea. I think the EVO's have started to use these? They're claiming to hit full boost 400-500rpm sooner with same top end. Are you gonna use this on the evo or TT?

In this arena there are so many options! Right now I'm testing a set of hybrids on a gt2, (coming from Gt35's), it is a 3082 (3076/3582's combo) center hsng. with Tial 1.06 Stainless 30's hot housngs with 3582's cold side and is howling ass, amazing. Imho nothing beats the Garrett product.

Same full boost rpm as a GT30r but top end of a GT35r? TIAL is making similar hybrids arent they?

Much faster spool and same top end of the 35's, it fills those jugs pretty fast all the way to 8K, don't know if Tial is making this combo, they do less agressive hybrids using the KKK housngs.in order to use the stock headers.

I believe some of Precisions turbos are made completely in house now. When at PRI they had their usual Garrett based turbos, but where also moving towards a production line of complete turbos. I've used them in the past on my Supra and made good power.

So when is someone going to man up and put a set of T6 Flanged PT106s on their 996s

My turbos are built by Tial but use a Garret housing on the compressor side and a KKK housing on the exhaust side.
