They seem to be great according to all the literature out there, at least the design and quality is fantastic.. How much in gains, who knows, very accurate testing is always very difficult, the dyno not being the best way I guess.

From what I've read I think the gains consist of:
- more carbon fiber under the hatch where you can enjoy it all the time while driving
- a nice $2k addition to your credit card statement

Good one Jimmer!

I don't have "any" test data to prove my theory, but the fact that the box provides a little more air storage and also has the proper volume of filteration, that it would be superior over at least one other option that I've personally had experience with. Couple that with the added intake ducting and you should greatly improve the volume capacity within the boxes ability to store that air.

The other thing to also consider is the material used. BLING, yea, but also NOT metal, like another cheaper design, which aids in storing HEAT!

That said, I'll stick with the stock box, for now!

You're ultimately necking down to the same size as the air inlet tube at the MAFS, so you're not gaining any more performance, but damn it looks sexy!

Mike

Anyone know if a stock size filter has more surface are than a cone filter? This looks to be the case.

I pulled the numbers on a cone filter that came in my aftermarket kit and they did not have the same CFM or flow volume as does the oem filter.

I believe that the intakes are NOT the limiting factor (or significant factor) in pressure drop for these turbo'd motors until flow rates get very high- ie past 650-700 HP. Only after you've upgraded programming, turbos, fuel, diverters should you be looking at the intake air filters.

I suspect the difference in HP will be zero under 600HP.

Just MHO, love to see some data on this though...
