Yeah and I bet that Porsche wouldn't spin out even if the surface had water on it, anything with over 500hp, AWD for me please!

In all that chaos the Porsche looked so calm and collected asking one simple question afterward, "Who's next?"

I have exchanged a few threads with John, he knows what he is talking about. He also knows how to drive the car. I agree with John here. It is hard to handle a 1000HP Viper due to traction and lots of other things. When the boost kicks in, you need to be able to handle that kind of power. I know a lot of Viper owners, tough car to handle unless you are the best.

People can be so obsessed with numbers.
Better to have less horsepower that is useable.
Oh and driving talent helps too.

It appears to me that the race was over when the viper spun out. This is almost exactly what happened to a buddy of mine and his 1000+ hp viper. At very high speeds, when he let off the gas quickly, he said that the back end lightened so much it felt like it was going to come around and he had to get back on the gas to slowly bring it down to normal speeds. Not sure but this might be what happened here, that viper had no racing wing either just like my buddy, but it also could have been, when the boost came on. If that is in fact the case, that is pretty bad, when there are many 1000hp cars that do not have that problem.
In any case glad no one was hurt and no nice cars were injured during the making of the video

Who owns the white Porsche Turbo and what are its specs?
Hennessey's Green Viper is a beast, We all saw it at TX2K8 (although he did not
compete with it??)

Here are some pics of the white 997TT TechartGT Street. It is owned by CEC if I am not mistaken. Put them on a real drag strip and the results would be much different.
I don't think the car has anything super special in it as far as performance mods are concerned, but with somebody that knows how to drive it behind the wheel and optimal conditions, the Porsche won this one. Like I said, in an actual drag race, the results would have been much different. I also beleive that the Viper was on Drag radials as they thought the car was only to be going straight at this event.

"Power is nothing without control." This video has comments from both drivers after the race. Enjoy...
