As those who might follow my car know, I am in the process of upgrading to GT 3076 turbos. However a good amount of modification/fabrication is needed in order to get them to fit.
I have S-Car-go headers (w/ the hybrid GT 28's that bolt right up to the stock, or S-Car-Go headers) and I was alerted to the possibility that I might have a hard time modifying/fabricating the S-Car-go headers so I called the man who designed them, Rob King the owner of S-Car-Go.
He informed me that there is now available a custom hybrid GT 30 that bolts directly onto our cars the way the GT 28 does!
Of course the only concern is whether or not the GT 30 has the same compressor/turbine limits as the GT28. I just got off the phone w/ him and he is going to find out for me by Monday and give me the flow specs. However, this news is HUGE since the GT 30 is really a superior turbo to the KKK 24 (yes even the hybrid 24/18) and would give us an amazing new bolt on option to take our cars to another level w/out expensive fabrication work that is only done by a handful of people.
Does anyone know about hybrid GT 30's? will they be 71's, or 76's? What is the A/R?

K24s have a smaller hot side then the garrett .63.
your going backwards...

I'd bet you could possibly have a bigger wheel put in the K24 though. If you want the honest truth, other than the opening for air from the turbos.. my exhaust side is a LOT larger than Seans. I saw it with my own eyes Thursday when I picked up a MBC from Tommy to test to see if my EBC is bad.
Plus who is going to spool faster? The top end power won't be much different at all.
We'll see what mine 3071's can do with fuel and bottom end. Considering at only 1.4bar I made 657rwhp @ 4500-5k RPM. LOL! It went to lean to keep the pull going because of my stock fuel system. Judging by other 996 graphs with big HP, you dont peak power at 5k RPM.. so we are guessing it would have made another 40-50rwhp which would bring it to closer to 700rwhp or so. We'll see what happens when I turn it to 1.5 or 1.6bar with good gas, fuel system, and a built bottom end.
Tommy and I discussed this today (along w/ some good advice from Doc/Chris) and we decided to stay w/ the GT3076's.
The reason is that it is a turbo that has proven to work well and Todd has experience with it. We are doing a remote tune and these new hybrids would introduce too many new variables into the equation. If I were sending the car to Todd and tuning on the dyno, hands on it would be a different matter.
But thanks everyone.
When is Tony coming to Houston?

You had these on your car when I saw you drag race in AZ (Dec 06),
I believe.
Powell, you think that your Suman Hybrids flow more than the ones Sean has?
(I dont know that is why I am asking). I also had a set of the "real Garratts" that
I bought from Divexxtreme and was unable to put on my car so I sold them to
S-351.

Marty,
Sean's should make slightly more power than mine due to the bigger exhaust wheel, but the size of my exhaust housing is a decent amount larger therefor a bigger wheel could be installed if a true hybrid turbo was to be made. Though you would experience more lag with a bigger wheel. In theory with the same tune I will make power faster than Sean will. Not to much faster, but I do have the K24 exhaust side to help on the spool. He will still make more power on the top end though because I will run out of steam faster than him.
Like Joe said they are good for about 730-750rwhp and I am shooting for about 750rwhp or so with a built motor. I think that should please me enough
Just program i some anti lag. A few ignitions with the exhaust valve open will spool your turbos in a hurry.
Realistically, all that heat Will probably wreak havoc on all kinds of components..

What is the precise spec of these turbos? Desciption-K24/???? ?? Have you got dyno or 60-130 result?
