Are you For or Against the Stock Air Box - Check This Out!

Are you a nonbeliever of aftermarket air intakes and think that what Porsche created for the 996 Turbo is truly the best? Well, Agency Power combined with Vivid Racing has developed the ultimate air intake system for the new age Porsche 996 Turbo owner. We introduce the Agency Power Dual Flow Carbon Air Intake Kit for the Porsche 996TT. The intake will fit on the standard 996TT and X50 rear decklids, others may require modifications.

This air intake uses the factory OEM back half of the intake box which includes the fault free MAF tube. What we have done is beefed up the front cover with a full carbon fiber unit which is designed to intake more air volume which is then traversed over the flat panel air filter. The biggest improvement of this box is the dual snorkel. We have built a carbon fiber intake scoop which mounts on the bottom of the left side of the engine deck lid. This scoop takes the airflow from the vented decklid and pushes it through the snorkel piece and down into the stock air box. The purpose of this design is to increase air volume to the factory filter.

In high speed or racing conditions, the intake needs to be able to get as much air as possible to keep these turbos working efficient. This dual snorkel unit combined with our updated OEM box cover and K&N flat panel filter does wonders for your overall vehicle performance. These made in the USA (Arizona) carbon fiber parts are a work of art. They are clear coated and have a great finish. Included with the intake is the aluminum Agency Power badge and foam strips for a precise air tight seal from the snorkel to the box. If you already have a K&N filter, BMC filter, or other OEM replacement, you can opt to buy the intake without the filter for a reduced price.
We expect this intake to be available for sale starting October 1, 2008. For more information, please contact us.

Agency Power currently has 2 Cold Air Intakes Available for Sale. Check them out here.

For those that have the current Carbon Fiber complete air intake kit seen here, we will be working on testing this dual snorkel with that airbox. For those of you that have the aluminum airbox seen here, we will be releasing the 2nd snorkel for sale shortly as pictured here.

A grand? Where does it say that... Kit will retail with a K&N high flow air filter between $600-$700. Real carbon fiber here and made by a hard working American. We used carbon for the look. We could be cheap and make a fiberglass version and paint it, but that is not what this product is about. As far as numbers go... Most tuners, Techart, RUF, etc stand by the stock box. In testing, with JUST the stock box and a K&N filter, we have seen about a 7WHP PEAK gain. But that is not the point. The point is the improved air flow for constant driving. Road Racers, 60-130 guys, this kit appeals to you.

Sportec knock off? Sportec is the front and the back of the box and does not include a MAF tube I believe. It is also $2K plus and I dont think ANY 996TT owner is gonna want to pay that. 2nd - how can this be a knock off, look at our custom designed snorkel, our OEM box integration, and I also might add, the ONLY person who has done this. There are many people who have simply cut the rectangle in the stock box. We just put together another AWESOME, innovative, cost effective Agency Power performance part We have 3 intakes available for this car, pick one, cause they all work

Dan, I like this and I like the price. It looks beautiful. It is about the fifth unit of its type I've seen...some here by end users.... But, it is right up there in looks with Sportec's. Not a new idea....been on race cars for years...but the eye candy is nice.

Kudos.

really, if I were them you'd be hearing from me...you think you invented it huh?

come on now enough is enough. BTW, you should cut the bracket (the part you can see looking into the snorkel) back to allow more air flow.

I get huge sums of $ from Vivid for spending much, much more than a small fortune to purchase a lot of their products Unfortunately, as I'm sure the rational among you realize--I'm joking.

I remain excited, pleased and proud that's my car in the pictures. I've waited a long time to have the CF air-box in place on my engine. Trustingly I've allowed these people to hack-saw the back of my car off, made numerous trips to have the damn thing fitted. Well I'm pleased with it in every way and that's what matters to me. It's on my Turbo and there's few that can make that claim. Seems to me I have the right and a damn good reason to be proud.

I hope that Porsche lovers, such as myself, who like the looks of the CF air-box get one and enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying mine. If not it's simple--it's Porsche pornography. If you don't like it, don't look at it.

No where does it say we invented this, if you want to start a forum fight, please at least use exact words. Slow your roll man... your benevolent post is not needed. If you like it, say you like it, if you dont, say you dont. Nobody attacked you.

Jeff's car had a raw prototype aluminum piece before this. If you click the links in the paragraphs, you can see what we are talking about. That is why you can see some plastic behind that. His entire left side of the plastic fan shroud is cut. HOWEVER for new customers, you DO NOT have to do this. All you have to do is cut out the necessarys space where the snorkel fits over. Jeff has graciously given up his car for MANY MANY fitment projects.

I appreciate your put downs and I appreciate the hundreds of views and tons of emails and PM's of users wanting this product. I will applaud you guys for that and ourselves for bringing yet ANOTHER product to the 996TT community.
