Just wondering if the 996 turbo diagnostic port is OBD II? I cant seemed to plug my ross-tech cable into the OBD II port. Just trying to read some generic codes.

If you have the ross tech (VAG com)cable, you can only read obd2 generic codes on a p car...i bought it hoping that it could read all ECUs of 996TT(psm,clima,DME...)but it can not...it only clears codes...Then i bought the durametric that did the job...

The ross-tech cable is tough to get in. I think I ended up clipping off the little tab on mine.
