Cascade is on a distinguished road
Addicting is beyond true. Soon, you will be signing up to every hpde there is possible going through tires like they are cup cakes being sold. It is amazing. The 996TT is probably one of the most amazing cars on the track. I say this and I dont even have one yet. I have had the pleasure of tracking many exotics and I will take a Porsche any day over a F430, LP460 etc. I do love the challenge though, she is a beauty and NSX becuase Im a lifetime honda fan .

track day

[quote=Screamin911;2301630]I have never taken mine to the track but I would love to! only fear is that something happens out there and I'm stuck with a car that I have to pay to repair out of my pocket instead of claiming insurance .

Good thought -- 2 years ago at Putnam Park (outside Indy) I saw an 06 c2s driver put his right rear corner into a wall; did not look all that bad but axle was probably bent. A week later saw the car at the Porsche dealer where he had it towed. Estimate was 56k. Service mgr said 1st time on a track.

Problem with so many of these rent-a-day tracks is so many drivers with hot cars that have never had a minute of instruction, never been on a skid pad, etc. It is time consuming but best to start with something like the PCA drivers' course.

I did get a brake pad wear light towards the end of the day though. I am sure it is for the rears because the front has new rotors and pads. I did not think i pushed the car or rode the breaks that hard but we will see.

With all that said I am hooked....and so the slippery slope begins.

awesome glad to see your tracking the car.

what club lets you run on the track with no numbers for the corner workers to identify the cars?

would consider driving gloves and shoes, help alot (it is a six speed I hope!)

Very rare for a beginner with an instructor in his car at a PCA club DE to do any harm to the car or anybody else. really is the most common myth amoung Porsche owners. you and the car will be fine, go to a PCA DE and enjoy the car, it is awesome!!

It was just a open track day put on by the track.

I thought about gloves but I didn't want to look like a tool with gloves driving like a grandma waving everyone by .

And yes it is a 6speed (I almost but a tip but last minute changed my mind for this reason...track days)
