Well done Joe and the Evoms crew! I had to look twice at the text messages on my iPhone! And the 997tt smashed it's previous record too.+1

I spoke with Joe an hour ago. The car was not near full boost AND he granny shifted it. 221mph is only the beginning. It will surely go faster. Joe's biggest problem is that, at that speed, the track does not have enough room for him to stop saftely.
Conratulations to Joe and EVOMS for a tremendous accomplishment. It *appears* that this *may* be the fastest 996TT ever created. Bravo!!!

I think your right - so this car maybe faster than the Proto cars?
Congrats Joe!! You aren't brining that car back east are you?....
Just in time for the spring.. Hope to see it out at the usual spot on sunday morning one of these weekends.
Joe and Evoms - congrats! Thats a outstanding time! Now lets see what she does on full boost
Is this the fastest recorded 996tt 0 to 1 mile time?
Jag
Yes, by a considerable margin. I think Alex ran 211 or 212mph last year in his 996TT, which was an epic time. Of note, Alex ran that time in a gutted car -- carbon fiber doors, plastic windows, gutted interior, etc etc. I suspect it weighed around 2,600 lbs -- perhaps less. In contrast, Joe ran his time in a full weight street car -- around 3,300 lbs. I cannot even imagine how fast Joe's car would be if 600-700 lbs lighter.
There will be full coverage in an upcoming Supercars Exposed episode on Speed. I'm sure we will see some great footage from others after the weekend is over.
