I found this today and I suspect that it will work with ALL ipods and incorporate into our current kit with minimal install time:

http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=11455

This may be a good thing to try with your 4Gen nano to get it to play and charge.

Any word back from the developer of this product? I am much like Mike on this - I do not want to have a second product kicking around just for this car and would like to use my iPhone! I appear to have pretty much a base radio install (Bose) and while it sounds good the local radio stations make me want to run screaming. Short of upgrading the headunit this looks like the way to go if it will work with my device

No, he has not responded to my emails. I suspect that his kit + the wires mentioned above ( http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=11455) would do the trick. I have not tried this so I am not 100%.

I ordered the product in the link, and now it charges my NANO, but I still do NOT have a working iPhone with this interface kit... It "does" charge the iPhone... But I can't access or play my itunes thru the headunit with the i-Porsche...

It looks like the reviews on it are a mixed bag, so I am not sure if it works in this instance. When I plug the iphone into my car I get the error message about it being not compatible but also there is no sound coming from the car stereo. This is opposed to some older ipod accessories which give you the error message but play fine when you switch into airplane mode.

Hey bud, yeah, I'll work on it.
Let me do some research over the next couple of days.

Hey Mike, so the Nano charges with the new cable and not the old?
Does the iPhone output any sound?

Thanks

Both charge with the adapter for 5Volt charging. The Nano plays music thru the headunit. The iPhone will play music thru its built in speaker, but will not play music thru the iPorsche adapter/ head unit.

Hope that explains it... I have the latest iPhone, 3G model...
