Some guys at another forum were saying that PEPBOYS is discontinuing selling HAWK HPS pads and is cleaning out their inventory dirt cheap. You guys might want to check it out.

Mintex is supposed to put very little brake dust.

If you get them keep us posted on what you think.

BTW that is just for the rears. Fronts are 81.

I had them on my C4S. I beveled the edges and used brake grease as needed and never heard a chirp.

Ok im back and have installed the front mintex as I had no time for the rears tonight. My mini review:

I had pagid oranges that squeeled like a metro bus picking up an army. So I said what the hey and purchased a set of mintex redbox. It came today and I began to install the fronts.. after reading the DIY I thought it would be easy but the dampers just wouldnt come out so I had to do with what I had and cleaned them from there and left them. Cleaned up the pads, stuck some "brake quiet" on the back of the pads evenly but then putting a little heavy on the inside of it because I knew it was going to scrape along the damper(Vibe pad) when sliding in. Did it for both sides. Zip tied up my brake sensors and called it a day. Went out did the bedding (WHICH I THINK IS SUPER CRUCIAL for not squeeling) and after my bedding......NO SQUEEL well except a tiny bit from the rear but ill tackle the rears tomorrow.

So in short here are my tips:

1. BEVEL the edges on the new pads!! Dont know if this helped but it obviously didnt hurt.

2. Clean both the back of the brake pads and the vibe pad.

3. Apply the "brake quiet" evenly on the pad or how it will end up evenly on the pad.

4. BED the pads CORRECTLY!!! I have been reading that if bedded correctly even Pagid pads can become squeel free!

Overall results: Quiet up front, tiny squeek in rear from pagid oranges.

Cons: Not as strong of a bite as the pagid oranges were in the front but i'll survive

No let us know in a few weeks if they put out less dust. Glad they worked out for a very fair price!

How dusty are they, like stock? How much does a stock pair run?
