the part beginns after the maf housing. the original part number from porsche is 99611062272. The part from ruf is modificated , corse ruf extract the fuel filter.so it is more place for this intake aluminium hose and it could be better designed for more air flow....i try to became this alu hose from ruf but he doesnt like to sell it to me.
may be it is to produce , itī`s only to modify and to weld with a alu hose

I have always wondered what this Ruf intake part looks like. Do you have a picture by any chance?
Does it bolt to the splitter at the rear or is the splitter replaced, too. I have always felt that the splitter could use some improvement.
Evo has a nice set of intake tubes, which I installed, but they use the OEM aluminum splitter (modified) and it looks restrictive compared to everything else in the fresh air track. I have always wanted to open this up a bit.

under this link you can see the engine with the modified hose (weld on the left side) the splitter behind for my understanding could be also more open a little .....

To the OP. It's general consensus here that the factory intake isn't really restrictive until you hit abot 700HP.

ruf doesnt have so much power and modify this intake
every single step is a step ahead so i try it
first i extract the fuel filter out of the engine compartment...this mod is already done
advantage: the fuelfilter is not over the glowing turbo and near the hot waterbottle
now i buy a intake plenum form porsche (only 175 Euro) cut the material out and go to a good welding shop. This will need a little time.................
My experience is many little steps are in sum a great step....i have done many steps ipd plenum with 75mm TB, Speed Tech y-pipe....ect and more and every of this mods was a great advantage , sometimes more power sometimes better responce of turbos together more power and responce and driveability....more fun

Thanks for the pictures. I have a feeling the splitter is replaced, too.
Winni, there are a few intakes on the market that do the same thing as the Ruf and do away with the OEM splitter.
you are right the splitter of ruf is replaced from ruf.... ruf has two intake plenums one for oem maf housing and one with 110mm and modified mafhousing from ruf.....
john what intake would be your favorite?
