Hey EvilRiva, you've posted a whopping 22 times, how many of them have been berating our friend Steve? Nice ratio. He's been an active and fun member to have around here. He's also suffered a stroke not too long ago and has shared his unfortunate situation with us. We've all been supporting him and rooting him on as he recoups. He's gone from having very little use of his left side, to where he can now drive his 6-speed without any problems. He's an inspiration to many of us here. You, you're a troll who has added nothing. In fact your thread about putting a "Turbo S" badge on a Carrera was ...oh wait, it was posted to give a hard time to Steve, VERY classless and now your remark above...Go back to your Toyubie Evossan forums. Here on the 6, even at times of disagreement, we usually use a little more maturity in our approach. For example, if you really didn't like the impostor "Turbo S" badge, then simply say, something along the lines of "you own a Turbo which is an amazing car in it's own right, you really don't need to try to pass it off as an 'S' ". See how that's done? He gets the point and you don't come off as an A$$hole. So, hopefully, you'll rejoin this forum after you mature a little, bit, but I think you need a break from this forum under your current name and attitude. Bye.
+1 couldn't have said it any better
I don't know why but this post made me think of this movie scene

Yea, the LM F40 with 700 HP would be a wild ride. Even the stock F40 must be a handful. I agree, at 2,400 lbs. it must handle very well. I am not trying to take anything away from the car - it's a fantastic automobile.

That video was awesome. I'd love to have one when I win the lotto lol But seriously Steve, I'd stay clear unless you truly have ridiculous amounts of money burning a hole in your pocket and want one as a collector, not to replace the 996TT. Just watching that video tells me quite a few things about that car:
Pros
-BEAUTIFUL engine note
-GOBS of punch you in the gut power
-Racecar that can be driven on the street
-amazing handling
-exclusivity, you'll be the envy of all around you
Cons
-HEAVY clutch
-Tough to get in 1st gear (had visions of my old 915 transmission before I went to the newer 915 trans)
-looked like he was only driving this car at about 6-7/10ths and it was STILL a handful on that track
-Racecar that wont be very happy on the street
-Maintenance costs will have you taking out a second mortgage on the house
-You'll be afraid to park it in the same parking lot as another car for fear of even the slightest breeze brushing up against your car lol
This is my all time favorite F-car (well OK, the Enzo is), but this
is clearly a car for the "super rich". A guy in MPLS had one and sold
it (1) year ago. He also has an F1 McLaren, Noble, 599, Daytona Spyder, 997 GT3, and lots of other stuff
That is the type of guys who own them. They may care about the horrendous upkeep costs, but they
do not have toWORRY about the upkeep costs.

Reason: added additional cars the F40 owner has
so lets get back to reality. Why don't you get a Fiero with an F40 body kit

F40s are still probably my favorite car of all time. I have heard that the paint is so thin to save weight that in sunlight, if you look hard enough you can see the CF weave under. Could be wrong as I wasn't told this by an owner, but as hard as Ferrari tried to make them as light as they are I don't doubt it. I'm hoping they(Ferrari) get back to this style of car as well, very lightweight, yet powerful.
I hear Lotus' new CEO says that Lotus in the 70s and 90s could be mentioned in the same breath as Ferrari/Lamborghini and wants to get back to that, so they may end up producing some new lightweight/powerful cars which would be nice.
Anyways, IMHO the F40 one of if not the greatest/most pure cars of all time.
I would have to agree with most here; it would be a fantastic track day car or a once in a while car, but as a daily it would be a handfull and upkeep costs would be crazy. But damn, it sure does sound amazing... Ferrari scream with turbo soundtrack is astounding!
