The 20's spool very quickly. I've had both the 18's and the 20's and I'm almost willing to say the 20's spool even faster. A well put together 20g setup is going to cost in excess of 15 grand though in my experience. 18g's can be done for around 10 as the clutch isn't always necessary immediately. If you are doing injectors in addition to the 18's i'd do the clutch while the motor is dropped.
Hmmmm... As you have so correctly pointed out, this is becoming a slippery slope.. . So... 20g setup from Markski, injectors, clutch, intake, MAF, tune, exhaust with 100 cell cats... Jeez... what have I got myself into...

LOL yes! Hmm I'd say see what you can get out of the stock turbos and clutch first. See if that's "enough":P

Send your K24's to Blouch or Protomotive for the upgrade. The pricing will go like this I don't remember all the prices so i'm providing estimates:
Turbo Upgrade: 1200-1500
Intake, Y-Pipe, Plenum, MAF: 3800
Fuel Pump/Injectors: around $750
Exhaust with 100 Cell Cats: Varies depending on brand.
Tune: Approx $2K
Clutch: Varies on Application (budget around 3K for a heavy duty unit)
Diverter Valves: $200
I forgot intercoolers! Those are 3K up depending on the vendor and how mild or wild you intend to go.
I can't think what I may be forgetting. Factor in labor and you are actually sliding down the slope head first trying to catch your wallet.

I thought so... That's $15k right there.... I have to go and see Alex to see if I can keep this project in the realm of sanity for just now, but leave myself with room to upgrade...

I have the 24/18 set-up right now on my GT2 it is exactly what you are asking for.The Clutchmaster stg 3 has the same feel & release point as the stock,so don't spend more on the clutch than necessary. Trust me you do not need 24/20's nor the ATS clutch. One of the vender's is driving and racing a 756rwhp 997 using the Clutchmaster with no problems. This setup will cost you $1200 for 24/18's(with your 24's),$150 for FPR, $1650 for clutch,$300 DV's ,exhaust $2000-$5000 depending on brand + Tune+labor done. ~525-550 rwhp.

GREAT information Paulie... Thanks Man.. I'm Scottish, so saving money is in my genes.. Getting the Car done correctly is my first priority, but saving money is good as well.. As the well known (in the UK) joke goes.. "How was copper wire invented"??? "two Scotsmen fighting over a penny"

OH God don't wake the sleeping Scot. Dr jitsu(Sean) we will never hear the end of it.He is one cheap bastard.
Any way I hope this helps. My car is tuned by Protomotive with excellent results & no issues. Good luck on your project.
Now Now Now Sean who are you kidding? Got a friend pleeese, what do you take us for.Sorry 80Shilling but I have to step in here & stop Sean's story telling.
Nonetheless, how in the hell did I end up sinking 140K into my GT2?
The same way I ended up sinking $85K into my 944 Turbo.!!!

Stock k24s on your GT2 will not give you 650 fwhp...
the best thing to do is a 18g upgrade with a little extra secret done to it... you will be happy for a while...
Really... We're all just not quite right in the head....
