I already know many of you...but for those of you who don't know me, my name is Peter Blach and I have been the organizer of the TX2K series for the past 11 years! In summary, the 2010 event will be in Houston, TX on March 18, 19, 20, and 21, 2010.....the event will consist of road racing/driver's education, dyno day (we have 2 dyno's, an AWD dyno and single wheel drive dyno side by side), drag racing, a 60-130 event and a night meet. There are several new and exciting things happening this year including a new road course and side by side (AWD and singleWD) dyno!!!!! This type of event is the ONE you plan on going to every year and I would hope that others that have come to the event will chime in to help support the validity and overall feel of TX2K events.

Stay on I-45 towards Galveston. Exit on Exit 15, continue straight through the light staying right onto FM 2004 that runs parallel to the dog track. Continue down FM 2004 for about 5 miles right through Hitch**** until you see four large concrete pillars on your left. The track is behind these pillars. Friday Night March 19, 2010 and Saturday March 20, 2010 - Drag Racing at Lonestar Motorsports Park
The Drag Racing event will be at Lonestar Motorsports Park (www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com[/url]) for the third year in a row. This year, we will once again bring back the "drag racing for 2 days option".
Here are the details:
Friday night, after the dyno day, the track will go hot at 6 pm and drag racing will continue until 11 pm. All runs on Friday will be test-n-tune runs. The next morning (Saturday), the gates will open at 8:00 am and the track will go hot at 9:00 am. From 9:00 am until 11:00 am we will have test-n-tune. Starting at 11:00 am qualifying will start and the schedule will be as follows:
11:00 am - qualifying pass 1
12:30 pm - qualifying pass 2
2:30 pm - eliminations round 1
4:00 pm - eliminations round 2
5:30 pm - eliminations round 3
6:30 pm - final round eliminations
There will be a dedicated lane for test-n-tune ALL DAY LONG.
Cost: spectators will pay $20 to LMP on Saturday. Racers will be able to purchase a "2-day tech card" on Friday (NON-REFUNDABLE if you break on Friday night) for $80 (in addition to the $15 cost to enter on dyno day). If a racer only wants to run on Saturday, the tech cards will be the same price as last year, $45 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter). These prices are the SAME as last year.
Food: concessions will be open all day
DRAG RACING CLASSES - Same as last year
TEST-N-TUNE
The lanes will be open all day for test-n-tune. This is the perfect venue for you to settle your grudges or to simply have the opportunity to run an UNLIMITED number of times!
PORSCHE SPECIFIC DRAG RACE CLASSES
I am open to having some P-car specific drag classes...in order to make this happen, I will need someone to volunteer to be the "drag czar" of the p-car classes. This person will organize and run the p-car portion of the event. If we don't end up having p-car specific classes, you all can run test-n-tune on Fri night and all day Sat OR you can run the street car class.
Street Car Class
This is the same class we had for the first time in 2009...it will be open to ALL MAKES/MODELS. This class will have a handsome payout and should be very interesting. This class will be administered by the same sponsor new to our event last year...ARD. Thank you to Owen Priest and ARD for helping me put this class together. This class can and should include GTR's, Vettes, Porsche's, Vipers, Supra's, Camaro's, Mustang's, etc...
The rules:
--all entrants will be required to go on a 20-30 mile cruise and will have to stay behind a lead car and in front of an end car...any participant that falls out of that line for any reason during the cruise will be disqualified and entry fee will not be refunded...the cars that fall out can stay and test-n-tune all day...speeds on the cruise will be mostly highway and will be in the 60 mph range...
--the cruise will leave the front gates at Lonestar at 11:30 am...just after qualifying pass 1 and back in enough time to run qualifying pass 2 if wanted
--carpet, both front seats and door panels required
--inspection sticker required (in the state you live in)
--radio that works is required (which means you need speakers too)
--stock suspension required (all suspension components must be located in the stock locations)
--no tire rule
--no fuel rule
--no power adder rule
Sunday March 21, 2010 - 60 to 130 Event at Lonestar Motorsports Park
Like last year, the 60-130 competition will take place on Sunday at Lonestar Motorsports Park.
Cost: spectators will pay $15 to LMP to enter. Tech cards will be $35 in the tech lane. Everyone will pay $15 to enter and those interested in racing in the competition will go to the tech lanes to get a tech card. Prices are the same as last year.
10:00 am - gates open
11:00 am - track is hot
11:00 am - 3:00 pm - 60 to 130 competition
3:00 pm - awards presentation for the 60 to 130 and Ultimate Street Car Competition
Food: concessions will be open all day
60 to 130 Classes:
Street Tire Class - this includes all DOT approved, grooved street tires. R-compound tires are also included in this class.
Drag Radial Tire Class - this includes all drag radials in any size.
UNLIMITED Class - this includes all cars outfitted with slicks (ET Streets, ET Drags, Hoosier Slicks, etc...)
For the sake of comparison, here are some 60-130 times for very fast street and production vehicles:

Only in the stock locations William. Not sure if Peter updated after you posted. Aftermarket suspension setups would be ok as long as they are utilizing unmodified stock mounting locations/hardware etc.

The Ultimate Street Car competition is an all around competition. Don't have to have crazy numbers across the board. Good numbers all around will leave you near the top.

Ben, you are 100% correct, you must retain stock mounting locations but coilovers, etc...are all good as long as they are simply factory replacements. This is for the street car class...
I need to get you all signed up for Grandsport, I need to get 40 people paid/committed, so if you're coming, sign up!
Lastly, I will have info about the Ultimate Street Car Comp posted soon.
Peter
