I notice this 04 GT2 8 months ago, they were asking $115k. I thought they sold it but was up for sale 3 months later as "the owner's car" for $105K. A few weeks later it was 95K, then 89K and now 79K! 80shilling said he saw that car but bought a 03 GT2 in WA. I wonder what condition is that 04 GT2?.

I saw it when they were insistent that they would take nothing less than $98K.. I bought my Car before they dropped the price on the 2004 here in the Bay Area.. I would still have chosen my Car though.. the interior is just stunning and the overall condition of the Car is unbelievably perfect.

When I talk to them over the phone it was $110! A week later I thought they sold it, so I went to look at a local 03. Like you, I couldn't believe the condition of this 03 and picked it up the next day!. Believe me I really DIDN'T want a 03 since I had an 02 with 10K miles. I was trying to find flaws on the car so I wouldn't buy it! It had remaining CPO and I still took it to a Porsche dealer to get a similar to "certified pre own" inspection! All we found was ONE little rock chip on the clear bra and a little scratch on chin spoiler! I guess that 04 is just not meant to be!

Jerry Seinfeld's car is listed at RPM for something like $128,500. No idea if it sold yet, but I reckon it'll sell for at least $125-130K due to its unique pedigree.
That car sold two months ago to an AZ gentleman for almost 20 grand less than the current asking price. He never took delivery and dumped the car before it even left Houston. The car is immaculate but worth $105K max. even with its "pedigree."

You definitely made the right choice!

Just FYI, but I actually know of a couple of well-modified, low mileage GT2's that sold for well into the 6 figures... so really prices are all over the board.

One car I know of had about $80,000 of documented factory upgrades from Porsche Motorsport and sold for something like $170K late last year.
Also, Fabian Roock's RST 650 based on a GT2 has been on the market for $185,900 and they've turned down offers of $160K. It has a build sheet of something like $100,000 worth of Roock mods.
It goes to show, I guess the market is really whatever someone is willing to pay!
No question - True Speed in Costa Mesa in late 2007 got in several sub 2,000 mile GT2's and were able to quickly turn them at $135,000. They bought the black one I mentioned with 1,8xx miles and got hung with it for 8 months, they started at $135,000 and moved down to $105,000 and never found a buyer, so they sold to Euro Car who listed it for $99k and took low $90k from a member here. I came close to buying, but just did not want black.
At the same time there was a seal gray car in AZ for sale with 1,6xx miles, super nice example. He was asking $125K, I offered him $105k, he offered to split the difference ($115k), but I was unwilling to pay a $15k to $20 premium over the black car. He now has it offered for $110k but is unwilling to budge on his price. He does'nt have to sell, so good for him. He is looking for someone who wants a perfect example. Eventually he may find that person, in the meantime he has my number with my current market offer, which most would consider a premium to the current pricing. But it is a really nice car!
2002 - $62k - 21k - accident history (front bumper, headlight, fender per seller) -repo'd by Porsche finance, fixed by Porsche - bought at auction from Porsche finance by seller - clean title - not salvage (per seller) - appears to have Ruf 550 kit - If it was repaired right and you just want a GT2 driver - this "may be" a great deal! Or this could be a great baseline for a pure track car. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb
Just bought a red GT2 from Stoddard. 10k miles, $80K. CPO'd for 2 years. PPI'd by independent. Anyone know this car?
Link to the Car? Congratulations by the way.. It seems as if the pricing on the 996 GT2 is making a lot of us take the plunge...

Looks very nice, I must say... Asking $105,000 the last time I checked, but would probably be open to offers, since it's been sitting for a while...

Good catch, I had never seen the 14 -2002's sold in late 2001. The 2005 number of 5 versus 7 is also the number I had before, but found out that there were 5 for the USA and 2 for Canada (I saw 1 of the 2 and it was black). The 7th car, the last one built for the USA was sold thru Newport Beach Porsche - it like all the other USA 2005's was GT Silver.
As far as how many are white I am not sure - I know of 3 - 2003's in S. Calif. Most I saw come thru were artic silver, then black, then seal grey, a few midnight blue, a few lapis blue, a few yellow, white and red. Saw one that was forest green a few years back with natural brown interior, very nice car.
