my engine is FINALLY....

on its way out

ive owned my car for about 20 months now

car is modded to the max (as far as you can go on k24s w/o hybrids)

rwd etc etc

i drive this car every single day, have went through 4 sets of rear tires, still on the same fronts since i bought the car

powersliding and drifting and redling each gear finally took its toll on the motor ... redlining every day, driving to and from miami non stop ...

my lifters are making noise on cold start up

the head gasket needs to be changed along with a coolant tank

im still driving the car and it still hauls ass

just goes to show the realiability of these machines

since owning the car ive only changed the oil 2 or 3 times and put a ton of miles on it

im gonna send it to the shop this winter as long as the engine holds through til then

once the motor is apart i will do some mods to increase power and rev limit

Sounds to me like you didn't even attempt to maintain your motor at all?? Only 2-3 oil changes in a bunch of miles? DO you track it at all?

Seems to me a little love is in order. These are great engines but they do need some care.

Wow! That is alot of abuse. How many miles did you put on it in the time you have owned it?

"i drive this car every single day, have went through 4 sets of rear tires, still on the same fronts since i bought the car"

"powersliding and drifting and redling each gear finally took its toll on the motor ... redlining every day, driving to and from miami non stop ..."

"since owning the car ive only changed the oil 2 or 3 times and put a ton of miles on it"

At least you are not one of those guys that uses the car the way you do and wonders why he has noisy lifters and other issues. Good to see a true field testing of these cars. Honesty FTW.

i put about 42k insanely abused miles on the car
once the motor is rebuilt and taken care of , i will abuse the car even more

for some reason i have 8400 rpm as a redline set in my head
this is the magic number i want my car to rev at

Sounds liek you treated it like you stole it.

You shoul take a close look at teh bushings, engine and tranny mounts, front driveshaft rubber parts and CV joint, etc... I bet they're all thrashed.

get ready to blow some coin for a 8400 rpm redline... ( well if you want it to be safe anyway)

Jesus... I absolutely hate reading stuff like this. Steve, You have got to learn to take care of this car or it will not take care of you in the long run... Oil and Filter are cheap and easy to do... Shame on you man... Shame on you...

I wish you luck on your motor build i would love to discuss some ways to improve the engine here in this thread without going crazy n breaking the bank like most builds.

i so wish i had a capable garage in the warm part of the country where i am staying now to tear engines apart.
