P0045 - Boost Pressure Control Valve

Hey all:

My car had only been getting .4 bar boost recently so I bought a Durametric. The code that comes up is:

P0045 - Boost Pressure Control Valve - final stage Open circuit

I've done a search and didn't find much that helped me. I have seen talk of a boost control solenoid and some other related things, but nothing really specifically on this.

If the little grey box on the passenger side of the y pipe is what I should be looking at, all of the vaccuum lines are hooked up to that, but I don't see any electrical connections.

If there is a part I need to replace, any help with a part number or location would be much appreciated.

That's the part. 3 vac hoses and an electric connection. Make sure electric connection is good. It is hard to get to, so may have to take Y pip off...

n75 valve part number 996 605 155 00, you can test it simple with a multimeter or connect it to a batterie with short pulses, the connections are okay?, the valve okay?, no boost leak?, limp mode?

I was wondering if this was the N75 valve I had seen people talking about in my search. I didn't know if they were the same part. I can certainly tell the vaccuum lines are hooked up, but I cannot see where the electrical line plugs in.

A split f-pipe (the one that the diverters sit in) gave me a similar problem. The p-code wasn't exactly the same as yours but it was something to do with boost pressure deviation.

Can you hear any leaks when your on boost?

Actually, before I got the durametric, I made one of the boost testers discussed on here and used it to clear up any leaks. I cleared the code after that and it came back 2x. I'm going to have to see if I can find the electrical connection and test the valve I think.

on the right side of the y pipe...near the throttlebody is the n75valve.. ..on the upper side of the n75 is the electrical connection....

Guys:

Thanks for the help. I checked out the N75 valve, ugh PITA to work around with the Y pipe still on. Turns out the electrical connection was not even hooked up. I guess the shop did not remember to plug it in or it worked its way off. Anyway, I got it hooked back up and everything is as it should be. Just wanted to say thanks again for the help, and for reference, if anyone in the future has problems, here are some other links that helped with the pictures.
