Help identify where this part goes after alternator install

Just about finished my alternator installation after getting it rebuilt. Down to getting the air filter unit back in place and low and behold I found the part shown. Not sure where it goes. Looks to be a sensor of some kind. Thought it went in the bottom of the filter enclosure because there is a whole that fits but the wire won't come close anywhere close to reaching. The number on the part is: 0280130092. There is a rubber grommet in the picture above the sensor and the sensor will go thru that but nothing to hold in in place.

Help...

Keith

It goes right through that rubber grommet
Above held by a bracket. It's the engine temp sensor

Never saw a bracket in removal. Thinking it must have been laying loose. Any idea a part number for the bracket. Guess I will cable tie it to the general area for now and make sure all is well.

Thanks

In the lower right end corner of this pic. That is where the engine compartment temperature sensor is. And it is the sensor that operate the engine compartment fan.....

Looks like a sensor probe of some sort, possibly temp. Sorta looks like it goes right into the hole to the upper left of the part in question.

Sorry, just realized. This is the grommet for the sensor. Just push it in that grommet from the front towards the back....
