Roof Rack Mount Track Tire Transport

I have finished my roof rack tire mount. It looks like it will work well. Here are a couple of poor quality shots. I used the Porsche Tequipment roof rack and bolted my own aluminum extrusion frame to it. I am going to add an additional strap around all the tires to make it redundant.

With all those animals on your property, I say you paint that baby drab and strap 'em to the hood like the rover in Daktari! You don't have a cross-eyed lion or a chimp named Judy over there, do you Tim?.... oh chit...I definitely need more sleep...

Looks really good Tim! What about adapting a plex fairing mounted from the front bar with a soft rubber edge strip that sits on the windshield? I have a Saris rack with two fairings, one of them is for Trucks/SUVs and is taller and angle is adjustable. You could get something like that for a little over a hundy, cut some off the width and adapt the mounts to clamp to the underside of your front bar. That way, when you're still amped up from the track, you know, in that first half hour driving home when you feel like you're crawling and HAVE TO put your foot in it to feel normal--you can cut the wind turbulence and lift. Overkill, I know...

oh man, that is awesome!!! i wish i could rig something like that. i can fit one tire in the back of Z06 and that's it with the wife and all our stuff in there. so i'm stuck driving up on RA1's r-compounds, it works out ok, but i can't justify stepping up to something stickier and burning them on the street... that is a very nice set up!!

trailer, dude, small tire-trailer... tires AND tools... and you can still highway to the track at 90mph+ ... you should have enough torque to pull it

BTW nice car... what black bar is that Brey-Krause or something? I hate the Porsche aluminum bar.
