Front Spoiler Lip

How many of you have removed this front spoiler lip? I do not track my TT, just pretty much a DD. After banging it into a low curb the other day, I don't see the use of this for my driving purposes, other than to bang it into curbs and parking blocks. Thoughts?

The front bumper doesn't look complete with out the front lip. Put it back on, if you really screw it up its $100 for a new one.

You can replace them w/ a great fitting 1 on eBay for about 120$ to 150$. Then again it's your car so if being able to get the font end over sidewalks and parking curbs is your thing then so be it.

My advice is to replace the front spoiler/air dam and then address the reason it needed replacing in the first place.

Make yourself more aware the car has a low to the ground front air dam and it will scrape and suffer from this unless you are careful.

Sight the car -- using the curb line and the mirrors or some technique you like -- to ensure you avoid pulling the car in too far and banging/scraping the front air dam on the curb.

On a related note after parking my Turbo in a convenience store parking and after running into the store and back again as I was getting ready to leave I noticed a guy and a woman looking at the front of the car. Thinking I had a flat or they were seeing a coolant leak or something else wrong I got out and the guy said something but I didn't understand (my hearing sucks) and as I walked up to him he pointed at the front of the car. I had stopped just less than an inch short of the sidewalk. We laughed a bit about that.

No way you can cut it that close every time but the idea is to avoid ever bumping the curb with the air dam.

The front air dam plays an important role in not only the car's aerodynamics at higher speeds but at all speeds by working to keep air from going under the car.

This helps the cooling system work better.

Replace the air dam. Learn how to drive and park the car to avoid damaging the replacement air dam going forward.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Here is one for $105 on ebay, are these any good? Do they come with the clips and other hardware?
