Jag F-type exhaust sound (don't crucify me!)

Gentlemen- I've fallen in love with the Jaguar F-type V8 exhaust -- that nasty overrun snap crackle pop sound. So much that I've considered selling the 996TT to obtain one.

Please save me from this terrible mistake and advise on any aftermarket systems that can produce this sound. I know that turbos really prohibit this, and it may require a tune (which is fine)... I've searched the forums and not found much so any leads greatly appreciated.

They do sound amazing.

I don't know of any exhausts or tunes that turn the flat-6 into a V8, though.

I've got some seat time in a F-Type R....very nice, very fast, sexy sounding.

But it can't hang with the 996 Turbo in the tight stuff...with my MAFless Sambo tune and light mods we're pretty even in the fast stuff.

PS...Our boxer 6 can never sound like the crackling V8 in the Jag, but there are plenty of nice aftermarket exhausts available that really change the personality of the 996 Turbo. I'm very happy with the Kline 2.5".

As stated it will never be a v8 but with a catless exhaust and tune I get similar pops and crackles.

I got to do some laps in anger in one of these with Davy Jones sitting in the right seat. Sounds were the best thing it did, I cant imagine a better GT car to cruise a road trip in.

I have a 11 range rover sport autobiography with the 5.0V8 supercharged motor (same motor as Jag). I took the center resonator out and it now sounds like how the Jags come from the factory, popping and burbling. I love it, Combined that with the active sway bar and the thing is a race car hehe

My catless 3" Kline has lots of nice overrun crackles and pops along with some beautiful BANGS in between WOT shifts.

I noticed this driving behind a Huracan a couple weeks ago. The overrun didn't sound natural. Very digital compared to mine. It otherwise sounded incredible.

Mine did this more before I tweaked the tune, I don't want the overrun pops when I'm puttering through a neighborhood at 25 on and off the gas. Catless Unobtanium exhaust and proEFI, you can pop and crackle as much as you want, I'm working to make it more civil. It won't ever have the same deep bass but that wicked tearing sound at WOT? Yup, got that and can be heard for miles...
