Would anyone be interested in Fabspeed 996TT straight pipes that would HOOK UP to all stock 996TT factory tips and TechArt tips?
On the normally aspirated 996 2002+ cars & GT3.......I have finished several sets for a testfit--- we are ready for production. 1st person that calls and comes to the SHOP will get a FREE System. Must make 100% sure that they fit.
Have a great weekend.
Joe

Hi Everyone
This is information on Fabspeed Motorsport straight pipes for Porsche cars. 996, GT3 ROW & USA and 996TT
1)on the 996 we already have GT3 straight muffler bypass pipes. These are unique for these cars and the sound is very aggressive.
These muffler bypass pipes fit the European GT3 cars too no problem
2) 2004 GT3 USA version- I will have a car in this week and should be able to confirm perfect fitment. Unbeknowst to me several 2004 GT3 oners have already installed GT3 muffler bypass pipes on their cars.......the owners tell me they fit great........one is "jetting by" this week Sharky Ross style. I will make sure that everything is 110% and also testfit some new GT3 hiperformnace mufflers on his '04GT3
On the 996TTs we have had muffler bypass pipes for several years. Many "Gung Ho" people have been running these for years too. We made them look radical and deliberately like a 935 racecar with slash cut outlets so that they are light and look evil.
Would you all really like to be able to install FACTORY Porsche tips or Tech Art tips on these muffler bypass pipes? If yes I am listening and we get moving.
Have a great day
Joe

I had considered the muffler bypass previously, but didn't feel the pipe tip fit the Turbo's looks. I'd imagine allowing for it to accept stock (or other) tips would draw a lot more customers. Do you have any dyno results of the muffler bypass vs. the other exhaust systems?
Also, while it's been a while since college, for the sake of optimal flow dynamics, the bypass pipe should come perpendicular out of the flange (or start the mandrel bend at the flange perpendicular to the flange) before making the necessary mandrel bends towards the exit.
The current setup, with the pipe angle-welded immediately at the flange, results in a high pressure spot right after the pipe due to the exhaust flow building up at the wall surface of the pipe across from the cat. While the difference may be subtle, since you may be redesigning that short pipe section with bends and reducers to accept the tips, it may be a small detail to consider. Just a thought.
Keep us posted...

Certainly one of the loudest with good power gains....however in terms of quality, im not sure? There have been a number of guys who have had issues with bad welds, etc. Maybe just a coincidence?
I love Joe Fabiano, we started in PCA Driver's Ed together about 1994.
However, every Fabspeed component I have had on my cars during the years has had problems. Nothing major, just small cracks, offset pipes, etc.
I am not trying to badmouth Fabspeed here - they do offer some excellent products. Just buyer beware.
