Compiled US production numbers for 996TT, GT2 & GT3
I've compiled the production numbers from PCNA as accurately as I could.
I broke it down between model years....as well as between Coupes and Cabs for the TT's, but no deeper (I didn't bother separating Turbo 'S' from standard TT's, for example).
Feel free to use the below info for reference purposes. If anyone has any input, please let me know.
Total # of 996 TT sold in U.S. by PCNA:
6,604 Coupes
2,556 cabs
2001 Coupe: 2418
2002 Coupe: 2318
2003 Coupe: 1384
2003 Cab: 482
2004 Coupe: 298
2004 Cab: 1490
2005 Coupe: 186
2005 Cab: 604
Total # of 996 GT2 sold in U.S. by PCNA:
317
2002: 198
2003 : 90
2004: 24
2005: 5
Total # of 996 GT3 sold in U.S. by PCNA:
960
2004: 864
2005: 96

Thanks for posting this. Is there a list for how many of each color? I'd like to know how rare Viola is (dark purple metallic).

Thanks, Scott...that is good stuff - explains why I wasn't able to find too many 2004 coupes (let alone ones with x50s) when I was looking!

Not that I found, Doc. But one might exist somewhere.

That's fascinating! Thanks for the info. With only 6600+ coupes made, you sure do see a lot of them (at least around Nor Cal)....Or maybe I'm just spending too much time driving by Sharkwerks
.

Cool, Thanks Scott. They made less GT3's than I thought.

It would be nice to have an area here with just some good info like this, maybe an article area or something. I remember back in my e30 days bmwe30.net had alot of useful info permanently posted outside of the forum area. It was useful and you didnt have to waste alot of time searching for stuff and it wasnt stickied at the top of the forum.

You can subtract an '02 turbo coupe off the list. I had one totaled by LAPD.

You can also delete another 2002 996TT coupe. Mine was totaled by my dealer.
Great info thanks for the hard work....

I read in a few places that there were 178 2005 Turbo Coupes made. 186 is close enough!

All of the numbers listed came directly from official PCNA press releases.
