Hey you Guys!!
What about removing A/C and eliminating the sunroof....We've found those items to be the second tier in weight...after seats/interior........don't forget the LSD, that get's you a tick closer to cups

Both have come up in discussion, but I dont think anyone has been committed enough to maul there car with the sunroof thing. As you need to replace the whole with something.
If there was an easy way to do it, I'd be all in.

I dont think there is a such thing. I got fed up with the oddyssey because the cranking amps suck, so I took it out and will put it back when track day arrives.

We've replaced several roof panels and they're undetectable from OEM. It's not difficult if you have the correct equipment, such as a proper 400 amp spot welder cooled with different gases. This is due to the multi layer reuirement of the roof welding...Exactly as the factory puts it on in the first place.-Mark-

I'm sure everyone doesnt have someone in their arear they'd trust to do something like that. And can it be returned to stock easily? I'd be down if these criteria were met.

Your correct in thoughts over talent, equipment and experience. UNLESS this is all the facilty is geared for, your screwed! Ha Ha!!
Anyway, this IS all we do. Sort of one trick pony thing? Roof, among any other panel replacement, can be continually changed out....THAT is the idea of proper panel repair...I do not think anyone would want to put back the stupid sunroof-not many of my clients even use it! Another factory ream job, as to why they won't option this. First 996 I did was in 00, a tree fell on a Milenium edition in his backyard. Geico was, as usual, uncooperative on pricing, until they knew I was only one around to do it without the client sueing them! Ha Ha! Sadly, by the time a bad chassis repair goes the legal route, the car is F**KED. INSURANCE COMPANYS DO NOT CARE!

have to admit several have been done in my shop with nice results and I probably will do that next.
in Florida, most of us run with the AC on and many are now calling to keep the AC in on the race cars, so this stuff stays for now in spite of the cool vests.
