BTW what list?
Tom,

Sorry you've been kept in suspense for days now. I guess everyone was too focused on the cool pics to answer your question at the bottom of the post. Not everyone pays attention to the small details like sponge counts, when necessary.

Ths list is towards the bottom of the first page of this thread pertaining to the lightest 996tt. Please notice the name after the number 1.

BTW, we're all still waiting for more pics and details. Get with it, will ya.

What type of seats did you have the first time you weighed it? The GT3 seats weigh about 40 for the pair, sport seats weigh about 95 for the pair. If you had full power/heated seats you should be very close to your goal. If you had sport seats you'll come up a little bit short.

Just looked back in my weight notes. Not sure I ever posted this. I think I only gave the diff between the heated and GT3 plus Schroth. Haven't looked back to confirm. The heated seats are 116# the pair.

The GT3 seats where in. dont forget when you are picking up those light seats that the brackets and rails really weigh alot!

I am only putting one seat in the car. it will be for racing not DEing anymore.

the roof got sealed today then the windows will go in. dash is in.
will post up the final pics early this week. the car will be at the track this coming weekend then race the following.

car full race with half tank gas is exactly 3000 pounds. when the doors go to cup doors in a few months its final weight will be 2860. that is the best I can do for a race legal turbo

after breaking my second front headlight (very expensive replacement) I removed the headlight units (8 pounds each) replaced with CF covers which weigh basically nothing.

so another 16 pounds off the car. standard doors still on and cup car uprights going on. car as it sits now at 2970.

This is just to add to the pool of cars and their weights. I was at Bandimere, drag strip and weighed my car. My manual says 3385 or 3388 lbs. I drove the car onto the scales and it weighed exactly 3650lbs. I weigh about 206 lbs, I had about 23 lbs of equipment, an 60 lb battery, factory bodywork. I did remove the spare tire and I have an exhaust that weighs 33 lbs. I also had just under 3/4 of a tank, assuming 9-10 gallons at 7lbs that is 70lbs. If you remove my 206lbs+23lbs +70lbs of fuel, the vehicle weight would be 3350lbs dry. I also have aftermarket wheels which remove about 2lbs in the front from each and 3lbs in the back.

FIRST OF ALL, WASN'T THIS THREAD A STICKY??? Well, since I cannot make any more power with the parts that I have, my car has gone on a diet too. Ditched the obvious a while ago. Up until recently, I was without spare, tools, compressor and rear wiper. I also had a new clutch with LWFW and exhaust. I estimated at that point I was down 80-100lbs. Within the last week, I have gone RWD, LW battery, and removed subwoofer and rear seats for another 141 lbs. I think I am down 221lbs now from stock. I may or may not remove my passenger seat, just for reporting purposes, if it's quick and easy. Another potential 60lbs. I will scale my car Friday at the track and report back. As of right now, I believe I only have between 4-6 gallons of fuel and will scale with that.
