Driving slowly through the neighborhood for a minute or 2 is better then a sitting 3 minute cool down, yes they require to be "cooled down" but nothing crazy! This is with mostly all turbos!

I always cool down my turbos. In particular, I stay out of boost for a couple of minutes before shut down. Moreover, EVOMS now offers a water cooling kit for its turbos. Mine is being installed as we speak.
OOPs, DOES the Garrett need cool down...can't edit main line...
Are they water cooled?
I heard somewhere that they do not require extensive cooldown, is this correct?
I usually just drive easy the last mile or so (IE no boost). Should I still let my car idle in the garage fior a minute or so?
Dr_jitsu,
GT30 turbo's have ball bearing as opposed to KKK's which have solid bearings. Either turbo's bearings can be cooled with oil or water. The solid bearings take alot of coolant while the ball bearings take a little or alot less.
The reason for a cool down is if the bearings are hot and the oil just sits there with the shafts not rotating the heat turns the oil to a coke type substance that ruins the bearings.
Now that you understand the mechanics I believe you have your answer to your question.
Did protomotive do the work? If so, aren't they water cooled?
S car go did the work.,... they get watercooled only on the full 700 HP package...

Craig
I'm with you Craig. I'd like to hear more on your water cooling kit.

Mark, I've got to get to Chicago this summer and have a look at your car. I imagine installing a water kit would be pretty difficult without pulling a bunch of stuff apart. Where is your turbo cooling rad mounted?

Zippy,
I don't believe there is a special turbo radiator. S Car Go simply tapped into existing water cooling lines on my motor.
I believe that is what Mark is showing on the immediately proceeding pic of his. The black line is the existing line (either supply or return). The fitting diverts one blue line to each turbo. There will be another main line tapped. Again one is on the supply side the other on the return side.
