how much power/torque can the standard block and rods take?

Hi all

Im just trying to do a bit of homework prior to getting my car mapped.

The Gt2 has been undergoing some mods of late such as;

DonG's intake plenum (excellent peice of kit by the way don )
75mm throttle body with rss intake plenum
K24/26 hybrids
Upgraded k24 headers, the new style ones like piero's
5 bar fpr
B&M filter
billet dv's

In addition to the milltek exhaust i allready had.

Thing im looking to know is how much Bhp/ Torque can the bottom end reliably run,

We can get up to 99ron pump gas here which ive heard is the same as your guys 93 but im not sure about this.

Any advise would be appreciated guys.

Thanks

Most people think around the 700-750 range. EVO goes to the GT700 without really requiring it (but recommending buildup). For RUF they build it as part of their 650 package. There were a few posters on here that had their rods bend/engine blow at around 750-800 hp.

So if obtainable on 1.2 -1.3,

600 bhp at the crank should be reliable on pump gas?

Thanks

i was going to say the exact same thing. although, a clutch upgrade will be pertinent and necesary.

Yip! you are good for that!

But note that US to Euro Dynos show differences, can never get my head round this, but Todd, Alex and Neil mentioned this before.

You should be at around what our yank dynos show to be 540 at the wheels (I assume you will have a "race" file for the 99 octance).

You have about 100 more rwhp until you risk the rods if tuned properly.

According to a porsche tech at a dealer that I take my car to says, the stock rods are good up to 640 crank. anything beyond that is in the red zone.

The key to keeping it together is good tuning and high octane gas.

FYI its the 590+ kits from Ruf that require a buildup.
