SpeedTech Complete 996TT Hi-Flow Intake Kit Announcement

SpeedTech has formed a relationship with Evolution Motorsports to offer their products and as a result, we have added a complete Hi-Flow intake system for the 996TT. Our full intake kit consists of the following components:
  • SpeedTech 75mm Y-Pipe and Hose Kit
  • 75mm Porsche OEM Throttle Body
  • 75mm IPD Plenum
  • EVOMS 996TT Clubsport Intercoolers
  • EVOMS 996TT Turbo Fresh Air Inlet Ducts
For anyone considering a major air flow upgrade, this kit warrants a close look. It retains the OEM configuration and does not require extensive rerouting and relocation of the intake plumbing and vacuum lines. Additionally, it retains the factory Bosch MAF for perfect OEM drivability. 70mm inlet ducts allow the turbos to breath freely up to 1,000 HP. The enlarged Hi-Flow intercoolers coupled to enlarged 2.5" SpeedTech silicon hose create an unobstructed path to the SpeedTech 75mm custom Y-Pipe. Next, the SpeedTech Y-Pipe with it's 75mm outlet, mates perfectly to the 75mm Throttle body and 75mm plenum for a complete intake tract upgrade. All the OEM silicon hose aluminum connectors, which create a series of flow bottlenecks are eliminated for a clean, clear air path from turbo to throttle body. Also, with this system, no air is vented to the atmosphere, retaining complete emissions compliance. This is a clean, OEM style upgrade that installs in the same manner and is configured like the factory parts, yet delivers a substantial flow advantage for upgraded cars. The Speedtech Y-Pipe and hoses are available in colors to showcase the intake system or plain black for a stock appearance.

Since many owners may have portions of this kit already installed, we are also offering it in partial kit form to fill the gaps in currently modified cars. If interested, please PM for pricing with your individual requirements.

Thanks, Dave. I also happen to really like this style of upgraded intake.

A few people have asked if the engine must be removed to install the inlet ducts and the answer is "no, it does not have to be removed". The inlet ducts can be installed by simply lowering the motor a few inches. This complete kit can be a DIY project.

What is the estimated install time and the cost of the kit. How much bigger are the cores of the IC's? Are the IC hoses larger diameter than stock? Also the fresh air inlets? Do those end with a K&N type cone filter at the rear side of the bumper where the open slots are? If so, Are the air filters included? Thanks, Also, as always, any dyno numbers?

Install time on this kit will vary with skill, but I would allow a full 2 days for a first time DIY project. You can probably do it in less than that, but I would allow the time. The IC cores are appoximately 1" thicker with larger inlet and outlets. Our hose provided that mates to the IC is larger than OEM, as is the Y-Pipe it connects to on the other end, then the Y-Pipe is custom made to flow 75mm of air to the enlarged TB and plenum. The fresh air inlets are also much larger than the restrictive OEM inlets and are rated for cars up to 1,000 HP. No, you retain the OEM air filter with our system. This is an alternative to those systems that place the air filters in the wheel wells, blow off air to the atmosphere, use a non-OEM MAF and reconfigure a lot of the original Porsche designed system. Our kit uses the same flow diameters as the typical alternate blow-thru MAF, fender well filter style systems (it uses the same diameter intake piping), while retaining the OEM method of air metering and delivery path. Staying with the OEM configuration has it's advantages. I will PM you pricing on the kit.
