EB- Only thing I would suggest is lowering your car a bit to get rid of the fender gap, will look much meaner!

Great thread!

Nothing like BLACK!!!
labor of love, worth every minute

Great looking p-cars, esp. porsch3, clean and very tastefully done.
Much the same for Ray's 996.

ls911- thx for the props - your pcar looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Very nice!

I have the hand-washing calluses to back up that 'labor of love' claim, lol- my neighbors see me outside every morning wiping down the car with my detail-spritzer and bag of microfiber cloths, and probably think i'm nuts..... but the comment is always "beautiful car" - "work of art" - etc etc..

lol

Thanks

Yeah ok, I'm a freak as well.
Just discovered the sparay detailer not too long ago. It saves me much time when I need to simply clean dust, great product.
I do my work mostly in the garage. keeps my wife from knowing how much time I spend rubbing down the other girl.

am hooked on the spray detailer- i've been through several brands. My fav is the Meguires next-gen spray detail. works great on black, no clouding or smearing and works in a wide range of temperatures. Very glossy. Even works very well on glass and dash / plastic. I use it on everything except rubber trim and leather seats. works great for the touchscreen kenwood to clean off screen fingerprints.

Ultimate Quik Detailer
Purpose:
High-bead, deep-gloss spray detailer
Price: About $8.99 from auto-parts stores and Wal-Mart
Purchase: Meguiar's, 800/347-5700, www.meguiars.com

Tell me about it.....I wipe the wheels off just about every time I park, and at
least clean the bugs off the bumper and mirrors.....but black is so worth it...shines like a mirror!!!

Wicked is not playing games.

I've been thinking about tinting (film) the tail lights.
Since it can be removed with no issues I might still try it out (light smoke tint for me though)

A bit concerned w/other drivers. Many already on the dumb ass side of things, throw a cell phone in the mix and the dim red lights might be a difference maker.

You do have a one of a kind black p-car.
IMO, not feeling the front tint. I just simply love the 996 headlights (litronics), could never cover them up...

Nice addition to this thread

ls, don't tint the headlights, taillights... keep the tint to the windows.

that's a very ghetto move.

i like the tinted lights.....i just did mine as well.... =D i also like my car to look different than the other 1084937934835 ones out there. i prefer individuality. if the tint isn't over done, i think it looks good.

otherwise, we'd all look the same. i think when mods are done we know people are either going to love it or hate it. but hell, we do the same thing with the clothes we wear, our hairstyles, etc. life would be boring if we all did the same thing. (=^.^=) that's just my lil' ol' opinion though. =)

there is a difference between "tint" and "blacked out" though. i prefer tint.

Ben is one of those that just has "that eye" for these things. Look no further than his 996.
He looks out for me and I do listen to his inputs. Our taste is much the same, he's got me good on knowledge though, pinche

Anyways I did enjoy reading your take on this and for the most part agree with you boxtergirlie. A light smoke/shade on the tail lights would be the only way I'd go + black car.
Well, until Ben shot me down that is...chingado

There are some mods that are just wrong, most sem to involve function/fittment.
