Post Your High Mileage Porsche

I am curious to see if there are any daily drivers 966 with high mileage. Please post up
1. Car info (year, model)
2. Years of ownership
3. Mileage on car
4. Care/maintenance religious practice

I am interested in a 966 C4S but I average 500 miles a week. I have three other cars but I am sure with the C4S in hand, the other cars will probably not leave the garage. Would like to get feedback on whether 966 can be used as a daily driver like a honda accord.

i have an '04 turbo that i bought with 7k miles.

the first year i owned it, i put 36k on it the first 12 months. commuting in NH. I drove it every day, rain, snow or shine. i drove it through blizzards and in the snow it was unstoppable with snow tires.

i did nothing to it but the factory service schedule.

the 2nd year i had it, i put maybe another 20k on it. same deal, snow didnt matter.

no problems (knock on wood). after that, i gave the car to my wife and bought an '00 c2. so far i've only put 6k on that one, but my commute is much shorter now.

so, i have to say, yes you can absolutely drive these things like accords. i plan to get snow tires for this one too.

btw, i do have other cars to drive in the snow, but i specifically bought a 996TT cuz i thought it would be awesome as a long distance snow commuter, and it was. i had narrowed it down to either an STi or the 996TT and i'm glad i chose the porsche.

so, go for it. its worth it, and the cars can take it.

2002 Carrera 4 cabriolet

Haven't owned it very long but almost at 86K miles. Plugs/fluids/maint. all up to date and pads/rotors at 65K miles. The car is is VERY GOOD shape with only a few minor chips on the lower portion of front bumper. Previous owner took care of it and the only problem it has now is inop trunk light. BTW can someone tell me where the fuse is located for the trunk light??

I think it's Fuse "A5"....but make sure your bulb is okay and your wires are not broken.
Hope this helps,

I bring this up because it looks like the majority of 911 being advertised for sale are low in mileage (below 50k)... and buyers are repeatedly encouraged to stay away from high mileage cars on here. Are 911's bought and used as a 2nd car, weekend car? I have not seen anyone brag about their 100k miles 966.

1. 2001 C4
2. Owned for three years
3. Currently 93k miles, purchased with 45k miles
4. Oil change at 10k miles (Blackstone analysis looks good), few minor fixes but otherwise reliable

I drive it every day regardless of weather, and done one DE with it. It doesn't burn oil, and has always been good to me...

Red face

2002 911 C2
Owned for 3 years.
Bought it with 20K miles on the clock, now up to 78,800 miles
I change the oil once every 7,500 miles (Blackstone said too frequent), replaced the plugs, coil packs, belt, air filters, etc on schedule. I do all the work myself (including the top adjustment). Been reliable thus far. Had to replace the RMS under warranty, and updated unit has been strong since. I can't imagine buying one of these just to look at it in the garage!
