I got my kit a couple of weeks ago and I finally got my car back yesterday (two months in the body shop getting new bumpers and side rockers), so I'm hot to get this installed - but Step 1 is "Get the radio code". Now, I've searched as many places as I could think of, but all I can find are instructions to get the serial number of the radio. Is there a more direct way to get the radio code? Or any easy way to get the radio code based on the serial number? DIYs get kinda scary when you can't even make it past Step 1.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Rudy

That code came in the owners manual/paperwork with the card... mine is on a little business card and came in the book of manuals and paperwork... Check you information that came with the car...

Mike,
Thanks for the response. This would work out great if I didn't stash my owner's manual in the luggage compartment. I couldn't think of where to stash them after that I took out that little manual holder under the steering wheel, so I threw them in there... Anyway, there's a few nits that the body shop guy wants to fix, so I'll ask him if there are any "tricks" to getting the lid to open on command.
Thanks,
Rudy

Thanks! Yes, I perused that thread - I don't know what he does, but whatever it is, Karnak the Magnificent has nothing on Loren... He did include instructions on how to get the serial number out of the Becker, so unless I hear of a better way to get the code, I'll go this route.
Thanks!
Rudy

hi i have just bought a 996 2001 facelift, i have no sat nav or cd changer, my headunit looks just like the one in your instructions which look very well wrote, how can i tell what headunit i have? and if i can add this to it? also where do i get the iporsche from im in the uk, please help as everyone in uk say anything under 2003 cannot add ipod
It was my ground wire. Unfortunately I tugged a little to hard and it came out of the clip. I think if I can remove and reinstall the clip, I'll be good to go.
Finally got it installed as one of three mods (the other two were swapping out that dumb*ss cd holder with a cubby and CF wrapped the console padding). To confirm, I have a Gen 4 nano - everything seems to work, except it doesn't seem to charge the ipod - is it supposed to? Otherwise, it sounds great, even with the stock hi-fi speakers...
