First mod?

I just bought a 03 C4S with PSE and sport seats. I am trying to decide what my first mod will be. I have historically always done suspension first (on my A4 and M3) but am not so sure about this one. I think the car handles great and would like to do something relatively cheap first. So far, I was thinking: IPD Plenum, K&N/EVOMS CAI, or some other cost efficient engine mod...Best bang for the buck. Any ideas? Maybe sway bars or something?

I don't think any engine mod provides good bang for the buck. Your first thing probably should be suspension. If you think it handles well now, wait until you do something there. To me, the next thing would a front bumper that provids more downforce if you don't have one already. Most of the rest of the mods are cosmetic.

A fellow Monster rider, sweet! And deck is right, you're probably not going to unleash a whole lot more power with bolt-ons, but for the same price as those mods you can really go around the track faster by upgrading the suspension. You really would be surprised how much different/better the car will be, and how much more fun it will be to drive!

Excellent choice in cars!
At this point, leave the suspension alone. You already have the US version for the sports suspension M030.
You have the PSE and great seats.
I would say best bang for the buck would be BMC F1 free flow filter or EVOMS CAI. It will sound better both intake and exhaust wise.

It all depends on your plans for the car. If it will be a street car then maybe an intake or something like that but if it will live on the track the suspension is the way to go.
Being that I am an Audi S4 owner now and a previous M3 owner I know what you mean when you say this car handles great. I have been told as you have read here though, it only gets better with coilovers.

Now that we have settled on your first mod, can we get some pics of your purchase? Car porn is always welcome.

Thank you for the replies! I can tell I will be on this forum a lot. The car is being shipped friday and will arrive here on tuesday. Here are pics from cars.com though. The photographer was not exactly the best but you get the idea.

The guy who's selling the car mentioned something about "short shifting" so it is possible that the car already has a short shifter kit.

I am very interested in your downforce idea. With my last two cars, I never spent a penny on aerodynamics. Do you mean a splitter or something? I know Porsches are very rear heavy. I want it to be able to handle with confidence at high speeds.

The Monster was AMAZING. I just don't think it's the right time in my life for a motorcycle. I share your opinion about the importance of suspension. I am excited to push this car!

Thank you! Hmm. I was thinking about doing either CAI or intake plenum. Does the CAI add noticeable power/response? Why do you recommend the EVOMS over K&N?
