Removing Stripped Rear Wheel Bolt on 2000 996

Anyone have experience in removing a rear wheel bolt that is stripped? I have 2000 996 that has one bolt that is completely stripped; not the head of the bolt but the threaded portion. The bolt rotates clockwise and counter clockwise without any movement to come out; I would like to remove the bolt without ruining my rim. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated; thanks.

Try removing all the other bolts and pull the wheel out carefully. If the stripped bolt is well and truly stripped, it should follow the wheel out. Check if the thread on the bolt is stripped or is it the wheel flange thread that is stripped?

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

Jacked up the car to prepare removal of the rear wheel; loosened 4 good wheel bolts about 1/4" out; pulled wheel and applied pressure to stripped wheel bolt while turning the wrench slowly watching the stripped blot slowly come out. Loosened the 4 good bolts again another 1/4" and followed same process, the stripped wheel bolt finally came out...thanks Sharky996!!

Upon further inspection of the wheel hub, 2 of the 5 holes are now stripped; had a Porsche mechanic replace the wheel hub and wheel bearing last Friday; looks great...but now my rear is vibrating at speeds greater than 70mph...will take the wheel off to see if the weights have fallen off...
