Hey guys
i posted about this last week,i had a funny road noise from the front,i had it check today at the Porsche dealer, they said its wheel bearings, said the left is the worst but a little noise coming from the right also, cost $700 each side,is that reasonable?also the car only has 23000 miles, should wheel bearing go so quick?,any input appreciated
Thanks

that's not far off of what an independent porsche shop quoted me. they were at $630 a side.
the front bearings are only around $40, so they are making good money on the labor. if they have the specific wheel bearing removal tools, it's an easy job for them. if not, they have to disassemble everything and take it to a press.
I replaced front WB's on both sides of my 2000 C4 while I was installing PSS9's; had to pull the front axles in order to remove the OEM struts. I hadn't noticed any noise beforehand, but found right front bearing to be a little loose. Fortunately I have my own hydraulic press so I only had to buy the bearings, but ended up going to two parts stores to get them quickly; ~$40 at one and ~$60 at the other. I guess I was lucky getting to do all of this at one time.
