Guys's got one post and didn't think to start a new thread. Talk about cabin fever ... give him a break.

Hi jadefox,

Where in OC did you end up going to and what did you pay?
I just got the quote for my 996TT clutch at a local independant and $1500 in parts seems to match but they want $3000 in labor!!!
Help is appreciated (PM)
Thx

I got a quote from eastside in bellevue for $5,000 for a clutch, ims bearing and rms replacement for a C4. They said because its and AWD they charge more because it takes more time. If any members recommend a better shop with for competitive price please chime in and share your experiences. TIA

I can't argue that a C4 ".....takes more time...", but having done this job myself on my 996 C4S - working under the car on a creeper - removing and reinstalling the Cardon shaft (which connects the tranny to the front diff), shouldn't add more than a hour (in total) to the same job on a RWD-only car.
In choosing an Indy shop, the two most crucial factors are competence and integrity. At $5000 you're smart to be shopping around for another shop.

I don't understand why people hate old threads coming back to life. If I do a search and an old thread comes up that's relevant, why not add to it? At least the info is in one place. Anyway, SCowboy, have you tried Chris' German in Bellevue to see how much they would charge? Good time to do the IMS if you're getting the clutch done since whoever does the work will be in there.

Cool, thanks. I tried to call but nobody would pick up which is probably a good thing meaning they are busy working on cars
