Question Replacing Climate Control killed my gauge cluster

So I had a few pixels burning out of my climate controls so i decided to buy a used one off a member. His came out of a 99, mine's a 2002. The moment I plugged his climate control in, my gauge cluster went out and will not come back on. Any suggestions?

looks like this climate control blows the instrument cluster fuse every time I plug it in.. it IS a different part number, is that related possibly?

If you plug your old one in, does it work again? I would think the new one should work, but obviously something is wrong.

If you can't get it to work, I fixed mine with a rebuild kit. It it actually an UPGRADE over the stock screen. I'll try to find a link. It was cheap, too....

Found it!

Looks like they are out of stock right now, but you might give a call. It's an awesome fix. Exactly as described.

Frisbee91 is on a distinguished road
Update for posterity:
If you want the original factory look. I'd highly recommend this...
http://shop.914rubber.com/LCD-Produc...m1plqscsfapp06

The guy at 914Rubber.com makes replicas of the original LCD displays. They are perfect, I have one in my car. (which is why I have a spare Audi display)

Did you check with your Porsche professional prior to installing a part that wasn't meant for your car? I think you're lucky if it's just blowing fuses.
