What do the m&k run?? i am surprised by the price difference on some of these exhausts... fister for example, sounds good, and the price is waaay cheaper. Does anyone have BORLA? my brother has that on his 2010 camaro, sounds fantastic, but obviously a completely different sound... ive seen it on a cayman s- that sounded great, i havent heard it on a 996 though...

I say save the G+ and do the gundo. I just got back from my local muffler shop outside Jacksonville, Fl. and it sounds amazing. the best part.... 100.00. The owner just did the same job in a new Z06 and has been welding for 40 years. place was called Awesome Muffler in Kingsland, Ga. But honestly why drop a grand when you can see for 100 bucks as for the factory cans you weren't going to use them anyway. So there is no loss.

The M&K mufflers were approx. $1300 - however, they are custom made - hand built and made with 321 stainless steel. So its high quality craftsmanship and definitely materials - but these are built to last and sound amazing. I wish you could hear them in person roaring down the road
I had many choices and I am glad I chose these.

if you're actually look for horsepower gains, then the PSE hack is not the way to go. That said, you're looking at like a 1-2hp gain at 6000rpm.. if its power you're after you should replace the cats, or better yet, replace the car with a 996tt.

The mufflers don't really give that much back pressure, they disperse the sound into a larger cavity to bounce around baffles before exiting. You don't do mufflers to gain hp you do cats. That being said reducing back pressure on an otherwise stock 966 really wont give you significant gains especially in the low end. These muffler companies love that our cars have a horse on the hood so they can add $$s to the price. To each is own and if you are going to replace the mufflers anyway then I would suggest the gundo mod. If it is sound you are after (as was I) then I bet you would be happy with it. At idle there is a throatier grumble and when into the floor it definitely lets others know there is a Porsche nearby however at interstate speeds just cruzin I barely noticed the difference. If you want loud then go muffler delete which is only a pipe with a bend in the end and a tip on it. But if you must spend your 9-15 hundo then by all means. As for me I am putting that g towards my supercharger kit. Fister mod can be done by your local shop in a couple of hours and you don't have to send off your cans. As for the weight... take it easy on the cheeseburgers. its only 20-30 lbs.
