P1325 & P301 codes
I just got my 2002 C4S, and after driving a few miles a CEL came on. Took it to my mechanic, and he changed the cam solenoid sensor. The codes P1325 and P301 came back on.
He checked all the wires and checked the computer to see if there were additional issues.
He got with a specialist on Porsches and came up with the vario cam's chain might be off timing. This process requires the engine to be taking out of the car.
Has anyone here had this issue, any suggestion...

I had a similar issue when my main IMS chain had a link break off the double roller chain. when the missing link passed the cam chain, we are only assuming that they touched and pulled the opposing chain off timing.
I had to pull the engine out, and had a full rebuild.
Good luck, get as many upgradable parts as you can afford and DO NOT cut corners on anything!

the lastest update.
Got with my mechanice and he found the following from my P1325 and P1345 codes.
VVT # 1 not working.
so the variable valve timing actuator bank 1 needs to be replaced.
This sound verrrry expensive, since they have to get engine out to get to it.

On a 2002 3.6L engine you can replace the variocam actuators for lift and timing without removing the engine.
In fact, they are just about as easy as replacing a spark plug.

Logray, thanks for the heads up, where is the location of the variocam actuators.
I am taking the car to a different mechanic to take a second look, and see if he can replace them with out taking the engine off, as you suggested, that will save a lot of time and money.

The actuators are right next to the coil packs for the spark plugs, literally, right on the outside of the engine, don't even need to jack it up.
There are two per side of the engine. One for variable cam lift and the other for variable cam timing. Beneath the two rubber shields with the cables coming out of them to the left and right of the coil pack that has BERU printed on it (under that is a spark plug).

You can even swap the actuators between sides of the engine and see if the problem follows, then you know it is an actuator (and which one to replace).
They cost about $120 ea. at porscheoemparts.com for example.
DO not mix the two up, the one for list must be installed in the lift position, and the one for timing is only for timing.

I took the car out today for a long drive, i clear the the CEL before i left, than hooked up the durametric after logging in 70 miles, i got fault code register, but no check engine light back.
P1341 fault code 900 - inlet camshaft bank 1.
I than try a cylinder check 1 thru 6 while engine was runing, and engine reacted on each ocasion by a slight shaking, i am assuming thats good sign.
I than ran the valve lift control bank 1 and 2, and the engine shut off. i am assuming the bank one actuator is the bad one.
i am little confused as of what is the valve actuator or valve solenoid, are they the same? the mechanic previouly changed new sensor and solenoid both banks.
to take the actuator out next to the spark plug coil, the actuator is being held in place by a clamp that slice in and out, or do i have to take out the allan screws that are right next to the actuator?

Actuator/solenoid same thing.
There is a vane control which is an actuator of sorts on the end of the camshaft, but those rarely go bad (or at least people don't post about them going bad).

update, the mechanic has spent some time trouble shooting the codes coming back
P1341 and 1325 and final outcome is the actuator needs to be replace.

i will post some soon. he also took the cam cover off and notice an alignment pin for the actuator was stuck in the scavenge oil pump. he replaced the pump since it was stuck, and put the pin back into the actuator. we hoped that was the issue, but the codes came back. So that leaves us with dropping the engine and change actuator and see what else he finds.
