My GT3TEK Review

I was expecting to post some pics tonight of my new RS bumper...

It's painted, it's on and I just needed to throw on my new quad tip Fabspeeds right? Not. They don't fit. The bumper is meant to have dual tips, look at their pictures. It appears I'm off to the welder to fabricate something that will work. The new Fabspeed tips are badass and that coupled with the bumper and dectane lights was going to look great. So here is what fellow 6speeders need to know:

1) Overall bumper fit is good (to body) as they show in their video.
2) Shipping, I think they need to use s bigger box. The bumper comes with the sides folded inwards. They say sit it in the sun or use a heat gun. I sat it in the sun and my body guy used a heat gun but the sides vents were still a bit deformed. I ended up tacking the urethane to the mesh vents for now to keep the form thatnshould be there.
3) Because the exhaust openings are more inward, you have to bend/cut the heat shield. Not a big deal but this gets back to the problem of the openings not fitting the alignment of quad tips.
4) Even if the tips did fit and didn't need to be moved about an inch towards the center, they'd still need to be pushed out or they will scorch the top of the openings as I learned yesterday using my fabspeed ovals which fit but are way too small for the dual tip openings on the bumper ( and they are the mk2's which are longer.

So bumper is awesome looking but plan on a fabrication to your exhaust tips to make everything fit. I'll post pics of what I end up doing as maybe the shop can find some play in the exhaust to make fitment easier.

I know your pain... I have the GT3Tek rear diffusor and the tail pipes have been a tight fit. I was able to make it work though but it took a lot of adjusting on the tail pipes.

As you can see, the exhaust opening is off on these bumpers. Also, the license plate light holes were off. The rest of the figment is good and love the vents. They are silver now but may go black. Going to shop for fabrication Monday.

Those taillights and rear bumper make the rear of your car look amazing!! I wouldn't careless if I had to fabricate the tips to have that look. I have yet to find an aftermarket company that doesnt require fabrication and I have been dealing with aftermarket companies since I was 15. The modifactions you had to do are on the good side. Most bumpers you have to shave and remoid to make a perfect fitment. I would rate this bumper a well worth buy.

I agree, Other than that excellent fit and I look forward to getting the tips on. I have a fiberglass front bumper on its way and expect some issues at half the price but outside of clear side markers every mod has an issue or two.

That was my other choice, but was worried about FRP as well. Great look though. Yes post pics and fit.

There's another guy with a blue mk1 running the prior design rear bumper. It looks really good. I'm not sure how much prep work he needed though.
