Conversion TIME 996--->997/996 Turbo Facelift
2004 C2 Cab 6speed 61k miles salvage title bought/delivered from a MO auto salvage dealer.
Damage included P-side fender, front bumper cover, Xenon headlight, hood, and a slight dent (1/2-3/4") on the tub. Suspension and frame/body/alignment check out with no measurable damage.
Got lucky on the tires, almost new and a very well maintained Porsche, no leaks, no strange sounds, and the interior is near perfect.
What to do? Repair to stock looking C2 or a modified Turbo 997/996. After a quick research on used OEM parts and other threads describing the 997 conversion process, I decided to take on the challenge of a conversion.
Mod's will include OEM Porsche used and new parts:
-997 steel OEM used fenders
-997 Turbo aluminum hood & hinges
-997 Xenon Headlights
-997 Turbo Front Bumper 07-09, with factory/OEM LED's, Fog lights and
grill's, new lower lip/spoiler
-997 Turbo Mirrors
-GT3 side skirts
-997 rear quarter Vents/Side Scoops - Aftermarket narrow body fitment
-996 Turbo Rear Bumper cover OEM
-996 Turbo Rear deck lid with factory functional hydraulic wing
-997 Wing - Techart
-wheel spacers 15mm
Some will ask...ohhh why? Why Not! Cost is little more for the modified Turbo 997/996 conversion at this stage.
I have included some starting pics. Tuesday we are going to cut/weld the fenders and fabricate the new rails for fender attachment to the tub.

Looks like some good progress. Do you happen to have any fitment pics of the frp conversion fenders by chance?
Also good luck sourcing the LEDs for that turbo front bumper for a reasonable price.

Are you buying all these parts new because I know for a fact that those LEDs for the front cost a pretty penny.

Great to hear on both counts. I did price the parts new at one point and after the 4th line item, I figured I'd stop right then and there as it didn't make too much sense to buy new. Check your PM.
