iPad Mini in-dash install [996 MkII]

Perhaps I missed it, but has anyone with a PCM1 and bose system done this upgrade?
I purchased the Pioneer head unit and a few harnesses from discount stereo but fear I may have the wrong parts.
I'm wondering if the plug/connectors and harnesses needed are the same as for the CDR 220

I'm not familiar with a PCM1, but I just Googled this: porsche pcm1 harness It displayed some photos in the middle of the page that may be the harnesses you're looking for. If you select each of them, it will take you to a link that may have what you need. Discount may have them, not sure as I had a DDR220. It does appear there is a solution available. I would recommend taking a photo of our connectors and sending the Discount and the other vendors to confirm what you truly need (that's what I had to do).

Thanks Mike that's helpful. I traded emails with Jay from discount stereo and it appears I purchased the right harnesses to be compatible with PCM1 so I should be good to go!

I've been planning to make this mod on my 03 996 and just bought an iPad mini 2 to get started.
Love that you went the scosche route with stock head unit. I have a MOST with Bose system so I think that's my best or only option. I heard the Scosche IPFMRDS is for older iPhones and iPads with the larger connector. Does the one you have work with more recent iPads? If not does anyone know of a suitable alternative?

The the adaptor from the old style connector to lightening works with no issues.

30 pin to Lightening Adapter
I am looking for the adapter on eBay to connect my new iPad mini to the Scosche. Some say they are only for charging and syncing and do not support audio. Others say nothing so I am not 100% sure they support audio. Some have a 3.5mm plug in the body along with the 8 pin plug. The other side of the body is the 30 pin female. Is that what i need? This type will stick out about 1/2 inch or so from the end of the iPad so I am concerned it won't fit in this installation.
I'm thinking I need a short cable version of these adapters.
Any more info on this adapter is appreciated.

Direct Audio
Thanks. That's just like the one I was planning to buy but was thrown off by the statement in the description "This cable does not provide direct audio support.".
It says it's for charging and syncing only. If this is correct, then how does the audio from the iPad get to the Scosche and ultimately to the head unit?
Also, my new iPad has iOS7. According to the product listing for the cable I may get a warning message stating that this cable is not certified, typical of an aftermarket cable. Is there a way, perhaps through the jailbreak, to eliminate this annoying message? I wouldn't want that to pop up every time I start up my system.

8.4 and then jailbreaking. The Audio transfers from the cable to the Sosche unit no problem. Go to Target and by the Apple brand adaptor. A few more dollars but works like a champ. I believe I paid about $40 a few years back. They maybe less expensive now.

Hello to all of you from Italy and thank for this wonderful thread. My installer is about to finish to install the Ipad mini in my '99 Porsche 996 Cabrio. Unfortunately, he called me few minutes ago to tell me that no USB radio have power enough to charge the Ipad mini 2 RETINA, and that I should buy a Ipad mini 1 to have it charged while in use.
What do you think about that? Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance!
Stefano

At last I have the mini Ipad installed on my baby ! By now, and until I do not solve the problem of major charging request of retina display, I have installed an old JVC connected to earphone line out of Ipad .
I hope to find soon a usb car radio that can provide power enough!
