Hopefully thats all it is...all lights turn on, hood latch works...but been turning slow last few weeks ( driven 2x a week)

Went to start today, and cranked once then a machine gun rapid type sound with all the lights flashing in dash etc...any advice?

 

Yes, before the battery goes completely dead replace it.

If the engine begins to crank slow again real soon think about having the alternator tested. But the new battery could also be bad. I had a dead battery replaced by a new one and 7 months later the new was dead. Just click click click so I rushed over and picked up a new battery and replaced the bad one without much delay.
