Sprint Booster and a Warning

Sprint Booster and a Warning
My 996 C2 with Tip was a little lack luster around town at low speed and I felt the throttle response could be better. I did some research and low and behold I learned something about the fly by wire throttle. The peddle and throttle plate dont move at the same rate. Now I am sure a lot of you know that and also know about the Sprint Booster but I did not. I took a chance and coughed up the $300 and hoped I didnt waste my hard earned cash. I installed it today and in the fist 2 miles of driving not only was I absolutely impressed but so was the cop I flew past. Yup he pulled me over for speeding but only gave me a warning. The last thing the instructions tell you is to be careful until you get use to your new throttle response. I may not have taken that serious at the time but be warned there is a good reason for that last instruction. This little gizmo may not increase your HP on the dyno but seat of the pants in real life driving its worth every penny. By the way I am no way afilliated with sprint Booster this is my honest opinion. Try it!

Thats your opinion and thats fine but I,m on day two using it and it woke the cars response right up. around town driving is a blast now. It downshifts when its suppose to and now that the tiptronic thinks I am being more aggressive than I am with the gas it just works so much better. I know it is just a bank of resistors fooling the throttle motor but it has three settings so you can adjust it for conditions and traction. I love it and I wont be tacking it out.

Please, I wasn't suggesting you remove it, if you like it by all means that's great. The 911 is the most modified car on the road today so what one likes/enjoys others may not since there are countless mod options. I have a manual so shifting is not a concern, I'd rather do a tune.

I had one of these on my old Mini Cooper S. I was skeptical about it too and thought it was very expensive for what it was. BUT, it was worth every penny, completely eliminated the 'drive by wire' throttle lag I was experiencing.

I have a 6 speed and just did this mod a month ago. All I can say is....

I will put it this way, I thought my throttle was sticking so I completely disassembled the gas pedal, cleaned, and added white lithium grease. Didn't help.
Then I added the sprint booster. The best way to describe it is the pedal is remapped. The response is compressed, but it is not linear. The first 1,000 or so rpms was a slight pick up...enough to have to get use to but not too different. After that the engine wants to dance to your touch. NOT more HP, just better response.
There is a sample graph on their website that describes what I am trying to convey: http://www.sprintbooster.us/ I just ordered mine direct.
Getting 0.5 MPG more now too. She likes to be driven hard.
