Hello,

I am new to 996 models. I just got a 2003 Targa that the rear glass opens when it feels like it and the hood I just closed it and now it won't open. Is there something I am missing like a anti theft system? I had to put some pressure to the hood to close it, but not that much.

Check your battery. If it doesn't have enough juice a few things will stop working.

 

hood won't open so he can't check the battery.....I had a similar situation where my hood wouldn't open and I carefully pried the hood up with a screw driver with a towel sandwiching the screw driver shaft.
That worked for me and I then shot the latch with WD40 and haven't had an issue since.
hopefully it will be that easy for you.......then check the battery ;-)

 

If you haven't tried, I think there is an emergency release for the hood behind one of the fenders?

I tried again and the hood opened, however I will check the battery because the rear window opens when it feels like it. I got the car from someone that had just got a 2012 and I don't think he used the old one to much anymore.

 

Hi, my 2003 targa came with aftermarket 18'' wheels. I think there are not wide enough, some are suggesting to go to 19'' wheels but I am not sure since the book does not give that option and the roads here are not exactly race type. Any advice?
