Guys,
Im new to the Porsche community. I picked up a 1999 C2 cab, 6 speed with a bad transmission. I am on the fence to dive into repairing the trans or sell it for a newer, less mile car. It has 132k miles, needs brakes, the drivers side window does not go down, the top only goes down manually and the drivers seat has a tear. The engine has no leaks other than the oil pan gasket and it runs great! The transmission has bad main shaft bearings. I can get the transmission fixed for $1600 bucks. I am just afraid that the engine fails, and I am in over my head. What would the value be for the car as is? I think I could get $9k. Or drop $2k and get the trans repaired.

Any thoughts?

I would base it off what I paid for the car. If I paid close to market value for a perfectly running 911 without all the maintenance you just mentioned then no I wouldn't fix it and sell it cause you will be upside down on the car. If you paid near nothing for it then I'd make her shine like she was brand new so I could get top dollar for her. Well actually if it was me I'd fix her and keep. Not much better out there then owning a Porsche... but hey call me nuts lol
