Potential 996 purchase
Good morning to the board..Have been without my 911 for two years, and miss it lots. Came on a 99 911c4 cab. One owner, great records, no body work, new clutch. Car has 79,000 miles asking 24,000. Would like to get some input and potential issues. Have not done a official PPI yet.

Service was a mini overhaul: replaced AOS, water pump, has low temp 160 LNE thermostat, LNE full filtration spin on adaptor, LNE IMS plus much more. This engine does not leak a drop and runs super smooth at all rpms. My indie commented on how clean it was when he pulled it apart for service. This car sound like no other....see you tube video under : http://www.youtube.com/user/Porsche911PC/videos

The PPI will show you any pressing issues. Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about that mileage. These cars can handle many miles if they are maintained properly. Here are a few things that I would be concerned about if they haven't been replaced by the previous owner:
- Air/oil separator
- Window regulator(s)
- RMS and IMSB. It should have gotten a new RMS when the clutch was changed. Was the IMSB upgraded or replaced?
- Water pump. Many people consider them a wear item.
Other issues that may require work in the next 25,000 miles or so:
- Suspension bushings. The AWD cars in particular can develop a rattle from a failed strut mount bushing. All cars can have wear on control arm joints, etc.
- Brake pads and rotors will probably need replacement. Make sure your brake fluid isn't more than 2-years old.
- Struts for the trunk and rear deck lid will need to be replaced
Good luck!

B8, that's a gorgeous 911. Why are the tips so far in the back bumper? Or is that just the way the camera makes it look? Either way, if I was looking for a 911 narrow body that car would be at the top of my list.
