Hello, to add to your great inventory:

I am now the owner of U226 with 40AE number 0633, effective July 2012, now with 49000 miles.

Have owned 2002 996 C2 Targa and 2006 997 C2 and a ghastly Cayenne. Now thanks to our decision to dump the Cayenne we got the 996 AE.

Look forward to see the update.

Thanks very much for the info on your car, and a special thanks for referring me to which number in the "un-numbered" listing your car was. It's really helpful when people check that listing. I've updated the registry with your info. If you want me to add a pic of your car please post one or send one to me.

I've added many more cars to both registry files - here is the link (same one, just reposting here so that people don't have to go find it in an earlier posting):

FYI: Mines a sleeper. Newly installed Supercharger kit + many more mods. Know of any 40AE also Supercharged or Turbo Charged? Let me know. Thanks.
Supercharger! Which company makes them? Love the sleeper concept.

Mr. Ed,
The Supercharger kit is from VF-Engineering and they are located in Los Angeles. (www.VF-Engineering.com). Let them know I sent you and hopefully get a considerable discount. You got any mods?

hey everybody!

hi, i have nr.0305. 3rd owner of local bay area car. i've owned her since april of 06 and she currently has 47k (40k are mine) on the odo. i've had a few mods done by shakwerks (awesome) in fremont. alex helped me with evo plenum and cold air kit first and more recently they installed the l&n engineering fix for the ims bearing problem. while they had her apart they installed their lightened flywheel and a new clutch and rms was replaced too. they finished the job by installing a sweet, sweet tubi exhasust. it runs like a bat outta hell. i have also upgraded the audio and nav with a alpine bluetooth to make things a bit more current.
having often wondered about my sister cars 0304 and 0306 this registry was a great idea and i'm glad to now be apart of it. thank you taz, strong work.

Welcome and I must say "thanks". You helped me solve one of the mysteries in my research. I found your car posted by Sharkwerks (http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/996-ca...nd-pedals.html). In one of their pics that they posted of your car I could see the back license plate but could only read the letters/numbers "ZERO5" - I couldn't decipher the first digit/letter but now I know! This is it, right?

PS - she's a beauty!

Cool Nr. 1103 Supercharged!

Hi,
Re-visiting this thread to give a bit more info. on my 40th. I have Nr. 1103!! Here are a few mods I "Started with." ie: A.W.E. Exhaust, SOFTRONIC ECU Tune, EVOMs Complete Air filter kit, 19" Roderick RW5 Wheels 19x8.5 front and 19x11 rear wheels & Hankook VENTUS K110 235/35/ZR19 front and 285/30/ZR19 rear tires, B&M short shifter, Carbon Fiber rear spoiler, and new aftermarket clutch stage 3 (From ClutchMasters) AND Light Weight flywheel and IPD Competition Plenum.

Back in August, 2013 (Build Started in July, 2013). VF-Engineering Supercharger Kit was installed. Pre-Dyno was 363HP to the crank with all the previously mentioned mods (without the supercharger kit). I will wait until 2,500 miles on the supercharger kit (oil change time) until I post-Dyno with Supercharger kit. Interested in upgrading your mod, but need help with legally being exempt from smog testing. Talk to me. Also, I had to replace the EVOMs Complete Air Filter Kit and should be on Sale soon. As well as my stock 40th wheels and tires and stock exhausts. As of this moment, Local buyers only. San Diego, California.

By the way, I was on Fox news just a week ago as well

Thumbs up

Wow! Can't wait to see the numbers once you put it on the dyno. I used to have a Ford Lightning up until recently- superchargers rock! My truck was running just over of 500hp.

I don't have any mods except for a simple K & N filter and wheels so far- bought some 19" forgestars (F14F) that look ok, but weight is almost the same as stock set-up which I was happy about. I'll have to take some pics to post.

Since I don't have the Lightning anymore, I've been thinking of mod'g the car, but always concerned about CARB exemptions/ smog checks. My local shop said that any mods to the exhaust are technically not legal in CA, which doesnt make sense to me, but after seeing the cost of an aftermarket exhaust, I was wondering if there was a better way to spend my money, and I think i found it. Just need to save up some $.

No. 0000 for sale in Germany

Hey, gang - it seems that a bit of history is now for sale. Car no. 0000 is for sale in Germany. Here's what the ad says (translated by Google): "Limited edition No. 0000 of 1963! This vehicle is the first built in 1963. The car was at the IAA in Frankfurt and at the Tokyo Motor Show. In the "40 Years 911" brochures, catalogs and reports is precisely this vehicle ready!" We can all debate whether this info is accurate but there's a good chance that it is. I know that the car in Porsche's advertising was numbered "0000" - see my previous posting with a link to the making of the Panorama pics of the "40 Jubi". Here's the link to that video - it's numbered plate "0000" seems to match up with the one in the seller's ad:
The Making of 911 Porsche Jubi Panorama Shoot on Vimeo
Supposedly there's some merit to the fact that cars numbered "0" are the first produced. Either way, assuming all of this to be true, it would be a cool piece of history to own.

Checking in on 40th anniversary registry

Greetings fellow 40AE owners (past and present)

I thought that this would be a good time to check in with everyone to share what I have as the latest listing of current, past and “unsure of” 6speed 40AE owners. Please post here or message me with any corrections. Remember that the numbers that start with a "U" are cars on the un-numbered list in the registry (meaning I need their numbers). Also, if you know of any 40AEs that aren’t in the registry please let me know. As always, the link to the registry itself is in my signature below. When I put this list together I was surprised at how few “current” 40AE owners I found on our board. I’m sure there are more and hope we can find them. Thanks.

PS – I’m going through this process on each of the owners’ forums where I have posted the registry, so you may get this request more than once.

Any 40th AE going to French Lick, IN?

Curious if any owners are planning to attend the parade in southern Indiana this June? About three hours from where I live in Indy. PCA is looking for a car to represent every year, and I can think of no better vehicle to represent 2004. Probably won't be me however in the display: although I'm a member, not particularly active in the region or the national, and I think preference goes to those who are. Been to that resort several times for business meetings and conventions in French Lick...very nice place. Pete Dye GC is superb.
